Living in Twin Cities unbearable right now

I see that another Goofer fan is trying to spread a bunch of lies. Nice long post that is not worth reading.

It is amazing how Goofer fans are so proud of their culture of rape and abuse of women. Run a train of 10 football players on one woman? Goofer fans say she wanted it! 3 basketball players having sex with several women where it's videotaped and posted on twitter? All you get from these same Goofer fans is a bunch of lies and excuses.

Its disgusting.

Goofer fans have become as bad as Penn State fans when it comes to protecting/defending their athletic programs at all costs.

In October 2007, the woman reported she had been assaulted in a Hillcrest dorm by two then-Hawkeye football players, Abe Satterfield and Cedric Everson. The men left the team late last year.

After a trip to the hospital, she and her father went to the athletics department with the allegations. According to the letter, she was interviewed by Gary Barta, the Iowa athletics director, head football coach Kirk Ferentz, and Fred Mims, an associate athletics director.

The woman claims that she was pressured to keep the case "informal" or within the athletics department.

The mother wrote that the woman was told a "formal process" would be "long and arduous" compared with the "swift" informal process led by the athletics department.

Satterfield and Everson were both charged with second-degree sexual abuse six months after the incident. Satterfield was also charged with third-degree sexual abuse.

Disgusting the way Ferentz, Barta and Iowa tried to protect these rapists. They'll do anything for the university. Makes me sick the way Iowa fans are so proud of the rape culture and abuse of this woman.

The woman testified she ended up in the room with Satterfield after a night of drinking, and he held her down and had intercourse even though she asked him to stop. She said she woke up the next morning naked and covered in blood and didn't find out Everson has been involved for weeks. She said she felt "devastated, violated" when she learned that.

Disgusting.

I'll take "Stupid games to play on message boards" for $1000 Alex.

Really, drunk driving. Not very smart perhaps, but its not like he was driving a car. Don't think he would have killed anyone but himself on that moped. Nice job of singling out an incident at Iowa, and comparing in to the number of sexual assault and deviant behavior going on at Minny involving football and basketball players as well as administrators! So who exactly is running the ship up north there Rube?
Or wrestling program selling drugs! That is the bad culture

didn't their transfer center (the one that has made their season) sexually assault someone. That's a hell of a culture the gophers have up there in the twin cities.
Pitino will follow his fathers model of turning a blind eye to the rules while being devoid of values himself.
Charges were dropped.

Charges were dropped.

To be technical, he was never charged with anything.

And to clarify my above postings on Everson and Satterfield is only to say that this/that stuff can happen to any school. Even someone as upstanding as I believe Kirk Ferentz is can be entwined into some ugly stuff when you have lots of 18-22 year old young adults, mixed with alcohol, sex, etc.

I just think it's so childish to point fingers, throw stones, etc just for the sake of the color of a jersey.

With that I'm ending involvement in this thread. I'm sure I'll get skewered and that's fine. Iowa has a nice young basketball team. I'm looking forward to the matchups in the coming years. Good luck.

No Gopher Football Players were ever accused of a criminal act of Rape at any point last year, or at least none of them were charged, or even arrested.

The Minneapolis Police Department and Left Wing DFL Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman have never been known for being incompetent or lazy when it comes to going after perps who commit acts of violence against women. They certainly do not sweep anything "under the rug.

The media completely mis-reported this story and a lot people were confused like some of you. Many think 10 players lined up and had sex with an unwilling woman. Most of the players did not have any physical contact with her at all.

The longer the story went on, the worse the "victim" looked. I do not know what "report" was referenced earlier, but any report created by trained criminal investigators completely exonerated the players. They determined in about a business day that no charges were warranted.

If anyone thinks the kangaroo courts that have sprung up since 2011 on campuses to enforce someone's vision of Title 9 justice are not a very bad thing, they need to read more about these types of inquisitions, and pray none of your son's ever get wrongly accused and sucked into one of these abusive processes.
Though I agree with you, keep in mind this is an Iowa board. The majority of posters are Iowa fans. I doubt that this is the place or time to have this conversation.

Its disgusting how Goofer fans flock to an Iowa board to defend the 10 football players who lined up, one by one, to rape one girl. Part of the whole ordeal, of course, was videotaped!

Its also disgusting how these same Goofer fans defend their 3 basketball players who had sex with more than one woman, videotaped the sex acts, and posted it on twitter.

Goofer fans are proving to be as disgusting and foul as those 10 football players and those 3 basketball players.

Charges were dropped.

There were no criminal charges filed against those 10 football players, either, but after what came out of that Title IX report, it was clear she was saying "no" when the Goofer players continued to sexually assault her. Its clear several rapes occurred.

Regarding Reggie Lynch, he was arrested for alleged sexual assault, but just like those 10 football players, no charges were filed. Its no wonder women don't go to the cops when they get sexually assaulted.

From TwinCties.com on the Reggie Lynch sexual assault allegations:

Sexual assault charges will not be filed against University of Minnesota basketball player Reggie Lynch, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said Monday.

Lynch, a forward from Edina, was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman in a campus apartment building on campus May 8.

Lynch was released from jail on May 10 but the County Attorney continued its investigation. On Monday it declined the case.

Lynch was the fourth Gophers basketball player to be suspended from the team since February. A fifth player, senior Carlos Morris, was kicked off the team.

Kevin Dorsey, Nate Mason and Dupree McBrayer were suspended for the final four games of the season after a sexually explicit video was posted on Dorsey’s social media accounts. All three players were reinstated to the team in April, but Dorsey has since transferred.

You Minnesota folks ought to take the talk as a compliment. Clearly, the volume and intensity is driven by frustration and a general lack of opportunity to throw shade on Iowa. Living in Ohio, the Hawkeyes are just another team, I look forward to the day when i am given a hard time by fans of Ohio $tate!

It'll be better tomorrow.

If the Goofer players spent less time videotaping their sexual encounters with women and more time putting up shots in their practice facility, perhaps they would have won a game in the NCAA Tournament

Poor Little Dick Pitino

Not so tough when they don't have their senile homecooking refs and that floor that was designed by a retard, huh.
