So what? If they keep winning, they will have an opportunity against one of the top dogs from the east. Beat them, Hawks are in. Lose that game, or any before, and none of this schedule talk matters anyway. Just enjoy yourself.OK then. IOWA's sos is in a nosedive.
Have a feeling Purdue will blow this.
I like the play call-- aggressive. GB does that quite often too-- it forces the defense to do more than just stack the box to stop the run. Granted the Purdue QB is no Aaron Rodgers, but the player was open and had a very good play on the ball.Holy schnikies! After a questionable play call Purdue got a huge break! Hell of an interception.
So glad to see Nebraska suffer.
Yeah, even with the walk on QB I thought Nebraska would nail this one.I have to admit...the thought occurred to me in another thread that yeah, there was a way Purdue could conceivably win this game.
Comes out flat, lots of turnovers, Purdue makes something out of them and is turnover-free.
Like...10% chance at best.
But I never ever truly thought Nebraska would lose this football game.
Wow. Simply wow.

Dude, it doesn't matter. Only way Iowa makes playoffs is undefeated. If they are undefeated they're in. PERIOD. If not, they're out. Just enjoy the Husker misery, JFC.
I see what you're saying. And I know, you're not wrong. I'm just hoping that they win out, and are able to prove all of these talking heads wrong. If not, I'd absolutey rather see them in Pasadena. But I'm not willing to concede that yet, either. Call me a homer. Call me unrealistic. Whatever. I'm just enjoying every minute of this that I can. This doesn't happen every year for us.Yeah, because strength of schedule has no role in who gets the "consolation" prize in losing the B1G championship game.
It really isn't that tough to figure out. Unless, I guess, you would be just as happy going to the Citrus Bowl as you would with the Rose Bowl.
Given that the Pac12 v B1G tradition at the Rose Bowl doesn't likely have much life left in it (I'm pretty sure that we aren't far away from an 8 or 16 team playoff), I'm really hoping for a trip to Pasadena if Iowa doesn't qualify for the playoff.
He really didn't even look all that bad from what I saw. I only saw three of his picks and two were on the receiver.Yeah, even with the walk on QB I thought Nebraska would nail this one.
If the analysis involved "playoffs or nothing," I'd agree. But that's not the end analysis. Not even close. There's a game in Pasadena that Iowa hasn't seen since 1991. Call me crazy, but that's an awfully attractive consolation prize.
And, let's face reality, the decision between a one-loss Iowa team and a one-loss MSU or OSU will have a lot to do with whose resume is more impressive.
If you can't see that, I've got nothing to add.
Bowls choose teams based on who they think can get butts in the seats. If the analysis involved "playoffs or nothing," I'd agree. But that's not the end analysis. Not even close. What's frustrating is that you know their record is not indicative of their talent. They're not OSU, but they're also not ISU. They're perfectly capable of putting a good week together if the players and coaches can get on the same page. They'll now have an opportunity to do that in a trophy game against a (hopefully) division-contending Iowa in their only chance to salvage something from 2015. Not an excuse for Iowa if we lose, but it's tough to see Nebraska suck this bad when our legitimacy in the new Big Ten is partially dependent on us beating them and Wisconsin.
Remember when the Huskers were going to just roll in, cash in and dominate the BIG?...I have to admit, never even set foot on their rivals board, but it is full meltdown they are dreaming of IF they had stayed in the Flag Football Big 12.
The move to the B1G being the scapegoat for all their woes. Anyway, I do feel a little bit bad for them. I actually want the B1G to be really strong.
I wouldn't be surprised if my post is deleted. I have a history of responding to flames by outsiders. What happens is, I insult them and then invite them to commit suicide and that's apparently censor-worthy but not ban-able. I don't see anything wrong with inviting anyone to kill themselves for any reason, but most people apparently don't consider that to be polite dinner conversation.
