Looks like we may play at Duke

If we get by the 6 - 11 game, then it would be the Dukies on their court. They just won the ACC tourney. That would be a tough match-up to get to the sweet 16.
Certainly a tough matchup. But, I feel like in Women's ball this year once you get past the top 5-10 teams our ladies CAN hang with anyone. Winning one of those close ones to OSU, UCLA, etc would have helped in game confidence but they are right there. That being said, they can lose any second round game as well. Just get by the first one and lay it out there,,,,,play with confidence.

Way too soon to worry about that. That bracket, and all the rest, are just guesses. Iowa could end up anywhere against anybody. Conjecture is fine, but we don't know anything until the official bracket is released on Sunday. Wherever Iowa plays, I like the Hawkeyes' chances.

Whoever we play if we’re a 6 (and win the 1st) as a 3 is going to be really tough. That’s a top 12 team on their court. We’ll clearly be a solid underdog but we’ve played in the toughest conference in the country this year. We’ve finished the season strong and should be nice and rested for the tournament.

For drama free competition, among the four expected 3-seed candidates, Duke, LSU, Oklahoma and TCU, only Duke fits the type. The other three all have something extra against Iowa.

Idk, I think the type of BS narrative that becomes a tired distraction is with LSU. It all goes back to the discourse in 2023. There is nothing between Iowa and those other teams that extends beyond the competition.

Well, hold on now. I haven't watched much women's basketball this year, so let me just take a look and see who we might play, and which teams the committee might f*** us over with by pairing us against them, forcing me to have to grab these blue haired old f***s and smarmy suit-wearing middle aged twats on the selection committee by the neck and go..........

I wouldn't mind playing TCU just to see where we stack up among the B12 conference champ. They may push the HVL narrative, but I don't think there's much there. There wasn't much there last year.

Only a couple years removed from losing a second round game in Carver. And the last 2 years were 8 and 10 point wins. Seeds 3-10 have more parity than ever.

That team last year seemed to be experiencing a lot of pressure (from themselves and otherwise) to get a F4 run started. Certainly showed up in the Holy Cross game, but the WV game couldn't have been a more difficult test. Whatever Kellogg did to motivate that team to play Iowa in Carver worked.

A little new being the hunter instead of the hunted. Assuming Iowa can get past the first game, maybe Iowa can use that to their advantage.

TCU's best player is Hailey Van Lith, who will want nothing more than finally beating Iowa in the NCAA tournament. Oklahoma's head coach is Jennie Baranczyk, Coach Bluder and Coach Jensen's first recruit at UI. She may downplay the Iowa connection, but her players, including Iowa natives Sahara Williams and yes, Aubrey Joens, will be extra motivated to eliminate Iowa.

That all fits in the normal context of game motivations. LSU is a whole different bag of crazy.

I'd say LSU is MARSEC Level 3+++, TCU is MARSEC Level 3, Oklahoma is MARSEC Level 2, and Duke is MARSEC Level 1 default :)

(I chose MARSEC because that's the one thing I remembered when I was on a car ferry near Holly Beach, LA, the Cajun Riviera.)

Speaking as someone who might try to attend the 1st/2nd round games, going to see a game (or hopefully two) at Cameron Indoor Stadium would be pretty cool...

I was there 3 years ago when we played Duke. Awesome arena. The game wasn't as awesome
