Luka Garza - Chris Street

Excellent comparison! Can you imagine if these two could have played together? I think their energy is/was so infectious to the rest of the team. The team effort last night was apparent and as the announcers said, it felt like a March madness type tournament game.

Really like Luka, but he's no Chis Street, yet.
Street just had a certain something, that was had to pin point....like he just carried the team with out carrying them. Just hard to put your finger on, and explain ,what he meant to the team.
Maybe Garza gets there

I realized last night how much Garza reminds of Chris Street. Not so much in how he plays his position but in his effort. He never takes a play off. Anyone old enough to remember watching CS40 agree? We got a gem.
Garza is impressive, indeed. So well spoken, too.

His offensive skill set is something else. He hits the 3. He can hit the mid range. Very crafty around the basket. Very impressive.

I am surprised his FT shooting is down; I expect that to improve moving forward.

I don't recall Chris every getting bloodied up in a game like Luka did last night. Holy crap that was a lot of blood when he was lying on the ground.

Luka, has a cotton ball in his nose almost every game by the end of the first quarter. Kid has no fear. That was a lot of blood yesterday though. It was funny how the announcers after the game told him it looked like he had been in an MMA fight, (being in Vegas). Kind of wondered how he would come back in after the stitchs. Same old Luka though, lets rumble....

I hope they all wear mouth guards; i think JBo does, for one.

Its gonna be interesting to see where all of Luka's hard work takes him after he graduates.

Well said. Chis and Luka are the kids coaches dream of and fans should always admire and respect regardless of wins and losses. They play their hearts out every second. During the 40 minutes on the clock, there is nothing more important than diving for that loose ball, battling for every rebound, doing everything you can to play defense. It is an honor, in a sports context, to watch that kind of passion and authenticity. We don't see much selfless devotion to a task anywhere these days, so when we do, it's appropriate to acknowledge it. That's what we should expect of everyone. At least we get it when the Hawkeye basketball team is on the floor.

Correct. The effort and competitiveness are similar, but Street was more athletic.

Chris Street was the best press point man that I have seen in Iowa gear. His activity, length, athleticism and sheer want to was fun to watch.
That is a good comparison. Luka plays with that same intensity. He is a load down low and I'm glad he plays for the good guys.
