I will preface this post saying I am a huge NBA fan. It is a 1000 times better product than the NCAA.
I watch every hawks game and I always wonder what Luka would do in the NBA. I truly think his defense is so atrocious that it is hard to see him getting any minutes in the NBA. There are so many athletic stretch 5s that can play a little defense that would play over Luka. Someone mention Olynk in this thread but olynk is far and away more athletic than Luka. Only things that are similar is they are tall, white, and can make 3s. Luka thrives as the focal point of the offense, he will never be the focal point of the offense in the NBA. If he isn’t the focal point then what does he do in the nba? Only set screens and pick and pop? He is more of a liability in this NBA on offense then what people think. He can’t rebound, he is not athletic, he won’t be posting up, he can’t handle the ball, and he isn’t the best passer. On defense I think everyone knows his limitations. Some people on here are showing their ignorance on the NBA. Every team will pick and roll him to death that it would be an automatic bucket. He can barely guard avg big ten 5s and avg athletic big ten guards abuse him. Add the fact that he jumps 12 inches and can’t rebound and you don’t have a good NBA player in this era.
