Looks like we may see that Marinelli vs Kennedy match up.

How’s Marinelli doing with his injuries from NCAA’s last year? I know he wrestled some intrasquad matches last week and he’s registered here, so I’m assuming if not fully recovered he’s close.

Chuck,

I can't answer directly as I'm not sure..but the staff doesn't wrestle guys typically if they not pretty healthy..at least at this point if year.

Bull will be on a mission this year I suspect

They really shouldn't go to this as they might get hurt and we can't take that risk.
I believe Luther open was when/where Turk(RSFR) torn his shoulder in his first match of the year and was out the rest. That’s why he still has this year available.

Interesting that some of the seasoned starters are going. I may be misremembering, but I can't really recall upperclassmen going to these early tournaments.

Also see that Grandview open is same day. Does anyone know if some of the other guys might be going to that?

It's been a minute but they have. Guessing around 2014 or 2015.

See. Obviously we shouldn’t be putting our guys on the mat at all if we can help it. Find a couple fish D1 guys to take on during the year then hit the Big Tens.

I guess I understand not planning to redshirt Ybarra if they plan to use him for multiple dual meets during the season, but why not keep the shirt on until absolutely necessary? Someone please enlighten me.

Probably wrong information. He will be in redshirt unless Spencer is hurt!!!

Do we know for sure that isn't happening? He doesn't have the * but that doesn't mean much right now right? It literally could be a typo. (no idea but it is possible) Cashman is still around too it appears, as far as filling in for Spencer. It could be a lot of things.

Some guys don't want to be in college that extra year, and ultimately it's up to the individual if they want to redshirt or not.

Ybarra may see this as his best chance to wrestle varsity action as a spot starter for Spencer. Also he may want the experience of weighing in for duals and wrestling with the team to try to get a leg up on Ayala going into next year when the spot opens up.
