My only concern is this on the democrats side - they also don't appear to be governing or doing what is best for the nation. With McCarthy ousted you have greatly increased the chance of a shutdown and less of a chance of sending additional resources to Ukraine. Not sure where their math is on this. Thinking show republicans in disarray harming the nation so they can win at the pulls in 24. Seems short sided especially when we will most likely be heading into a recession.
This was going to happen either way in weeks with the 45 day looming so the bandaid was ripped off early.

McCarthy was always a dead speaker walking thanks to the deals he made to become speaker. He couldn’t ignore the freedom caucus as a result and Dems couldn’t deal with him because they couldn’t trust him due to that.

Gaetz wanted him elected with all of those concessions in the first place. Just so he could toss him at a later date. If it wasn't Ukraine he would have found something else.

You're misunderstanding me. McCarthy was an ineffective speaker. It was not on the Democrats or Biden to try and help him maintain his position.
I mean, in light of McCarthy now being done, it would behoove the President and those in his circle to help locate a reasonable Republican (they do exist) who can compromise with. If they end up with another obstructive doofus Biden will fail to accomplish anything in his remaining term.

Democrats worked with Republicans in the Senate to get the government funded. Democrats supplied the majority of the votes to get it signed. Biden signed it. Democrats are doing the heavy lifting in the federal government. All Republicans are doing is showing their asses.

For the record, Democrats can’t do anything with Republican support. Republicans wouldn’t sign a discharge petition to keep the government open. That would have saved McCarthy probably. Republicans are absolutely terrified of a mean tweet from Donald. They are paralyzed because they know the rabid base will primary them after a single tweet from little Donnie.

Hakeem Jeffries is ready to go! Just need some reasonable, and normal, Repubs to make it happen.
This is the only sane choice. Jeffries only lost one Dem vote to avert the shutdown. Whereas McCarthy lost 90 R votes. Jeffries can almost guarantee that virtually every last Dem will vote for the most important issues. He has his side in control. He's the only rational choice
Personally I'd be surprised if Hakeem gets it. I doubt any republican would wanna throw their vote for that. Nominate Trump no problem though.
