MARCH 12 Tournament Selection Show: Jerry Palm/CBS was CORRECT: IOWA was one of First 4 OUT

I heard Vandy is in regardless of what they do in the SEC Tourney.

What a crock that is!

Crazy that (1) we lost at home to the Illini; embarrassing and hurts our resume (2) they are still in the Big Dance discussion after losing to Rutgers

But I agree. Our NCAA Tournament essentially starts on Thursday. Gotta win and advance.
Fing Vandy, Florida really did F us over pretty good, FDFDFDFDFDFDDFDFD!!!!!!!!

Guy is a Clown, I don't even pay attention to him.

LOL; also, he must have slept in today? Everybody else seems to have an update for this morning.

Its fun to look at; its fun to see Iowa in the mix; Iowa just has to win games and take any doubt away.

If we lose on Thurs, we deserve the NIT.

If we lose on Friday, we might still have a shot at the Big Dance.

If we are playing on Saturday, we probably go dancing.

Il St isn't getting in. K State needs to lose to Baylor. It is very close to us just needing to beat IU now!

Its gonna be March Sadness for quite a few teams over the next 6 1/2 days ;)

I think if we win 2 in the BTT we are definitely in. If we win just one, I think it's a flip of the coin.

If Lunardi thinks the BIG is bad or down, which it is, then he needs to look at the MVC whence Ill St comes from. The BIG might be bad, but the MVC is absolute shit.

I also will echo what others have said and reply the reason Illinois is in and Iowa is out is because the Illini beat Iowa twice.

It comes down to DC. The young Hawks have a daunting task ahead of them. In the first game they get the "most" athletic team in the Big 10. They are a tough out and seem to have figured something out.

If they win, they get the most "veteran" ball club in the Big Ten in Wisky. They have experience and got a big win on Senior Day in Madison.

I am hopeful that having it be in a new venue will spell trouble for teams and the young hawks can sneak out a game or two.

At least our two best games happened in the eastern time zone! Also we are not playing at a funky time. Both games will be the same time (5:30). So hopefully we can catch some magic.

2 game season now.

Are those teams listed in order or just randomly (e.g. First Four/Last 4?). I'll say it again, we need to be YUGE Baylor fans to knock out KSU and sorry Ill St., you aren't getting in. Mich needs to kill two birds with one stone by beating Illinois, knocking them out and bumping Iowa's RPI and SOS. Rhode Island also has work to do and outside of a decent RPI their SOS and Top 50/100 wins are absent.

There are 19 Bubble teams we need to lose ASAP. Illinois State has already lost in their conference final to Wichita State.

What follows is a really good up to date summary by conference of the 19 teams not named "Iowa" that are on the bubble. Ideally, each of these 19 teams that are still alive in their conference tourneys gets blown out early.

It goes without saying but obviously we don't want some surprise team winning their Power 5 conference tournament.

To be fair, that actually hurts our RPI/SOS. We played 2 games against Illinois and 1 against Michigan. However, Illinois is a bigger threat than dropping 1 spot in the RPI.

Illinois State should be out, Rhode Island a really unimpressive resume, Syracuse is in only because of their coach and program reputation and IMO Xavier is dead in the water without their star player available. Hawks need to take care of business, win at least two games in DC, kick down the door and avoid another Dayton first round game. Barring that, an NIT invite isn't terrible and probably gives this young squad a longer period to continue to play and improve for next season.

Michigan winning helps them stay in the top 50 rpi. Wins over the top 50 rpi is more important than whatever happens to our RPI from that math, and gets Illinois Manbun out of our face in the bubble line.

ugh; but they beat a bad boston college team today

That's what I was thinking. Like beating Rutgers. If anything I'd say keep them at status quo but wouldn't count it as a boost. Thought that was ridiculous to say with so much bubble teams still left to play conference tourney.

That's it for today, correct, when it comes to bubble team games?

But what sucks is what ESPN thinks:

Syracuse will play Miami Wednesday in the ACC tournament's 8/9 game. That the Orange finished with a No. 8 seed is a pretty good indication of just how much better they were over the final six weeks of the season (when they beat Virginia, Duke and Florida State) than they were early on (when they lost to Boston College, UConn, Georgetown and St. John's, by 33 points). Thanks to its seed, Syracuse doesn't have to worry about taking a bad loss. It will either lose to Miami and be done, or beat Miami and play North Carolina. It should get the call on Selection Sunday either way.
