I call that total BS. Just because Boeheim is on the sideline. Put a different name on the front of their jersey, they would not even be on the bubble

So true the espn bias for them is amazing. On PTI their argument for them being in is well Lundardi has them so good enough for us and look how well they did last year. Last year should have zero bearing on this year. Funny thing is cbs bracketology guy Jerry palm has them in NIT citing how they can't do anything outside the carrier dome. I'd link but from rival black heart gold pants sight and had a great breakdown and comparison between Iowa and Syracuse with blind resume and if you didn't know one would pick Iowa most likely.

There are 19 Bubble teams we need to lose ASAP. Illinois State has already lost in their conference final to Wichita State.

What follows is a really good up to date summary by conference of the 19 teams not named "Iowa" that are on the bubble. Ideally, each of these 19 teams that are still alive in their conference tourneys gets blown out early.

It goes without saying but obviously we don't want some surprise team winning their Power 5 conference tournament.

Va Tech up 10 with under 2 min over wake forest. Good news for Iowa. Puts wake at 19-13 (9-9 in conference). But one thing is Wake finished 10th in their conference. I know likes of espn loves the acc but still 10th of 15 teams bottom third of the conference is where they finished.

So, what about these 2 ACC teams? The listed record / RPI / SOS was heading into the conference tournament.

Syracuse [18-13 (10-8), RPI: 77, SOS: 61]
LOST
to Miami (20-10) March 8 at 11 am CT

Wake Forest [18-12 (9-9), RPI: 28, SOS: 13]
BEAT
Boston College (9-23) 92-78 on March 7
LOST to Va Tech (21-9) at 6 pm on March 8

Wake should get in before Syracuse. Despite what the "experts" say, Syracuse getting in would set a whole new precedent for bad losses, importance of road wins, bad RPI. I think if any of the other bubble teams win a game, Cuse is out.

hate to say it, but i bet there will be arguments that BOTH Cuse and Wake should be in

Didnt you guys here, the NCAA is petitioning the selection committee to allow all 15 ACC teams in, because it is heads and shoulders the best conference in the league. Only reason BC lost all those games is because they played in the ACC. Put them in the Big 10 and they probably win it.:rolleyes:

Cuse has 4 losses to teams with a higher than 100 RPI; Iowa has 2 such losses. yet Cuse is solidly in, per Lunardi and Dick Vitale?
They both have man crushes on Boeheim........personally, I've never found him all that attractive but to each his own.

i just worry about tired legs; i hope they don't show up until at least Saturday =0
Why would you be worried about tired legs? You realize the teams we'll be playing are at the same point in their season as well correct? Playing in tourneys where you play every day SHOULD help Iowa. This is were playing so many guys all year should pay off. Other then Jbo, most of our guys especially the bigs have not had to play a ton of minutes. Between sitting on the bench for 7 games,(finger surgery), and several games with fouls, Cook should be in good shape. Most of these guys are 18 to 20 years old. This should not be an issue, at least no more for Iowa then any other team, and I think should lean in our favor.

THIS. we play 12 freaking guys. We are probably the most rested team.

Look at our games following the OT games; we came out flat, not shooting very well, and that was WITH a few days rest

And the fact Iowa started slow in other games as well not just those following OT games.

Reporters did ask post game if those OT games were a factor; I think they were.

So my question is, if they win today, how do they respond tomorrow? Hopefully, very well, but it's just something to watch for.

Hey Franman I understand your concern, I just think we SHOULD be as physically prepared for the next couple of games as anyone we'll play. I would consider tired legs an excuse, because we should not be anymore affected by the conditions then our opponents. It kind of like using the weather in football when both teams played under the same conditions. As stated, playing so many players during the year should help us now, to fight fatigue, foul trouble, or just to replace someone who isn't getting done. I assume if we win, we'd play a team that had a bye today. We might still have an advantage by getting the tourney jitters out of the way, and to get used to the rims, shooting background etc...
