What Iowa fans should be concerned about:

* Northwestern has not lost a conference game at home

* Illinois has been good on the road in conference games

I still think the Hawks need to win their last 2 and at least 1 in the BTT to be virtually assured of a bid. And I believe they can do it!
I agree that this is the path but am not confident that they can win 3 in a row(4 including PSU), they're just not consistent. Fran needs to treat each game as a one and done and forego the first half stupid 2 foul rule. Play your best guys as long as you can until you have to make a change, that should be the approach.

Michigan has 1 road win! I would love to have a redo on that game. You take that loss away and add to win column we are probably 1 win away! Should have could have, sad when you think about it!

Almost every coach has a 2 fouls in 1st half, you sit rule. Would you rather Freeman pick up a cheap 3rd & have to play very tentative in the 2nd half? I would only throw the rule in the wind if we were getting blown out and need to exhaust all options. I'd rather see Brauns in there mixing it up than risk Owen picking up the cheap third foul. Other team would be going at him hard.... use the bench & others step it up in his absence.

Full text of the tweet:

Some Torvik at large probabilities for Iowa:

Current: 16%

Win tomorrow: 49%

Lose tomorrow: 7%

Win next 2: 64%

Win then lose: 31%

Lose then win: 33%

Lose next 2: 2%

(Math isn't fully making sense on some of these given win probabilities, but there are other factors....)

Win next 2 and plus 1 in the BTT and we should be feeling very good on selection Sunday. One at a time, tomorrow's game is HUGE!

Shelby Mast is the Bracketologist for USA Today. His projections are based on how he thinks the Selection Committee will make their selections, not how he would want to make them, if the season ended TODAY.

On his website he brags that he is one of the most accurate Bracketologists with 15+ years experience and a 98% accuracy rate since 2005.

After last night's games, he has Iowa as the 4th team OUT.

Last 4 in - Gonzaga, Colorado, St Johns, Villanova
First 4 out - New Mexico, Utah, Ole Miss, Iowa
Next 4 out - Butler, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Syracuse

He has 6 B1G teams in.

1 Purdue (#2 overall seed)
4 Illinois (#15 overall seed)
5 Wisconsin (#19 overall seed)
9 Northwestern (#33 overall seed)
9 Michigan State (#34 overall seed)
10 Nebraska (#39 overall seed) @Alum-Ni

Or he can pick up a cheap 3rd in the first min of the 2nd half. I think if it is one and done game you look to maximize minutes for your best players, won't happen if they sit for 10 in the 1st half... IMO just play aggressive until you can't is how those games should be approached.

Nah, I'd maybe only play him in contolled situations. Close to TV timeout & Iowa with the ball. Limit the defensive foul exposure. With shot clock, you always have a chance at come backs in 2nd half. Remember the Minny comeback?

The Mock Selection Committee thing in Omaha..

Summary of a question/answers about Iowa this morning: "Is today's game make it or break it":

"Iowa needs it. But I think if they lose, they are not out of the conversation. But to stay relevent, they need this.." (Shelby Mast).

"There's not enough runway to land the plane, in this field, without a win-out. ..Good luck Iowa, at least there's a path. ..A lot of teams in your shoes don't have one at all.." (Rocco Miller).
