Marinelli and Young

Hall is more of a "magic man" than Taylor in my opinon. They think they have a take down and some way he turns it into his..I have watched him for six years in high school and he wrestled all summer long also..This man is that good and if they let him go 165 I would wager he would not lose another college match. Unless sickness or injury happens. He has had better coaching before he ever even thought about which college he would choose...Every summer..

False.

He was mediocre until Cael developed him.

He improved a lot after Karl first visited him (in the seventh grade - the first time). All legal and above board. ;)
Actually, he just placed his hand on the young man's shoulder, made that slight smirk and walked off

It's just you.
I beat around the bush too much. After this weekend I think there's a good chance Young can beat Marinelli for the 165 spot next year. Young is proving to be very technical. Next year should be a "best man up" year as the team race is irrelevant.

Partially my fault on the psu stuff. My bad!! Next year The Bull will be at 165 and Young will be at 174. Now here's my thoughts on 2018/2009
125: Lee
133: Murin
141: Turk
149: Kemdawg
157: The Bull
165: Young
174: Miles
184: Cash Money
197: Warner
Hwt: Stollhouse

I REALLY LIKE THAT TEAM!! Very easily could be the team to win it all. Problem is I dont know that Kem can make 149. Plus with that lineup where does Nelson fit in the following year.

I don't think we see Murin ever make 133, think hes more of a 141/149. Also, Nelson will be a 3 year starter at 157 behind Kem, or a 2 Year starter at 165 behind Marinelli I think. Unless there is some type of Grayshirt or Olympic RS situation that could work out.

I don't see how you pulled that from this tournament.
Marinelli wrestled in a bracket with better competition. Marinelli had a win over an AA. Young loss to a true frosh that he had pinned during the season.

I don't think that team wins nationals, but I'd expect it to get second over OSU. Next shot at a title for Iowa is 2020 imo. Just too many senior horses on the PSU team in 2019 (Nolf, Nickal, Nevills) to go along with Hall, Joseph, Suriano and any newcomers.

I get what you are saying. What if we get Sasso also. Sasso could go 141/149 also. Honestly he's probably better than Murin. So Murin probably needs to be 133 for our best lineup. Teasdale messed that plan up. We probably NEED Teske and Sasso to be Hawks that would help take the sting away from losing Teasdale!

That's the best Hawkeye lineup I've seen in a long time.

There is no way it would win nationals because it wouldn't make weight.

As much as I love the quote and reference, Louden only had to make the weight once. In DI, the descension rules make next to impossible to do anything like that. For all intensive purposes you need to make your weight throughout the season or not wrestle until the end.

With today's weigh-ins, I would hate to see a team full of guys doing hard pulls. You would have a group of very unhappy, irritable wrestlers. Maybe they can make these type of pulls, but I always get leery when I see guys wrestling below their High School weights.

Nice WOB in here. :p

Was that about 8th grade meant for me ? Hall did not win in Kentucky the champ ship in 7th grade so when he transfered to Apple Valley he enrolled in 7th grade again. Also all the summer wrestling he did he had his own coach and that is the man that made him what he is today.

Minn: Honestly don't know who I was responding to, just thought what he said was funny :)

So no, my response wasn't directed at you, but maybe his response was??

Very impressed with Young's technique. May the best man wrestle 165 next yr.

That's all fine and good with a team loaded with talent. However wouldn't it be in everyone's best interest if one of those athletes made an effort to put on the weight needed to compete at 174 now rather than struggling to pack it on after fighting to keep it off until well into the season?

Always good to see it crop up. One of the classics.
