It's a luxury for Cael because it doesn't matter at this point. With or without Hall they are stacked and primed for another title. Those bonus points are killers and they have sure fire NC's in Zain and Nolf. I know many don't agree with me and will give reasons on how Okie St or Iowa can somewhere pull off the upset but we're building for future dominance. Let's keep the shirt on Alex and let him grow into 165 and be a beast next year.
Hall's ok, but he'd look 83% better in black and gold!

If you think PSU will win handily without Hall, then I'd agree it doesn't matter.
I think PSU is the favorite, but not out of the question that Okla St could come out on top. Iowa, if Cory comes back at 100%, could also have a shot. In those instances, having Hall in the lineup would help PSU gain an edge.
Currently, PSU has #15 ranked Rasheed at 174#. Hall just beat #3 Kent from Penn by 9-4. With Hall, PSU gains a probably high AA, and would have a killer's row of:
149 Retherford
157 Nolf
165 Vincenzo
174 Hall
184 Nickal
This assumes, of course, that Cael will "develop" Hall into a good wrestler.
PSU is far from a lock without Hall. Retherford and Nolf will absolutely score a ton of points, but no one after that is a lock to score big points. Suriano has looked good, but he isn't a bonus pt machine and true freshman falter at NCAA's more often than not. Cortez hasn't looked like an AA and neither has Gulibon. Joseph is at a super top heavy weight where I just don't see him finishing higher than 7th. Morelli isn't AAing. As good as Nickal is, 184 is a MEATGRINDER. 197 could be a zero weight. Finally, Nevills has looked very good, but I don't see him beating Snyder, Medberry or Walz. OkState, tOSU and Iowa definitely have the firepower to beat them. Now add in Hall.....they become very hard to beat.
Joseph is going to surprise you. 197 is weak. McCutcheon, if he can stay healthy will AA. I'm accepting bets.
Yes, everyone, I guess I was getting selfish with my response on Hall because I basically went into the Marinelli argument. I feel PSU will win without Hall and with Hall they win comfortably again. Unfortunately I'm just a realist and not a big "what if this happens" kind of guy.
With that said, please redshirt AM. Yep I'm going back to my selfish roots and going back to the Hawkeyes. Four out of the top eight guys are in the big ten. We have duals against MI, PSU, and Okie St. He's already lost to IMar and Valencia. Sorry but seeding at nationals is going to suck now. AM is a HUGE talent that needs to maintain his confidence. Let him grow into his 165lb frame and let dominate the entire season next year. I'd also like to keep these recruiting classes together as much as possible.
In the end I support the hell out of TnT and my opinion is worth $H!t.

Hope imar goes back to 157 - seems like he is up to high - plus want him to beat nolf again for a title. Nothing against nolf
I would love to see Nolf and Imar wrestle a few more times. Those matches were so fun to watch last year.
their B1G Finals match felt like the score should've been 20-20 going into OT, not 1-1. I was wishing that one would never end
Iowa has too many holes at [133], 141, 165, and 197. Even if Clark wrestles there are 7 AA's at best. Note it's common for some of the "for sure AA's" to not make the podium and Iowa hasn't had an unseeded wrestler AA in a long time. Contrast that with OSU having 10 legit AA's giving them more room for error. Then there's PSU with tons of bonus points and the option to pull Hall's RS.
If they pull Hall's shirt it's over. Psu walks away with another title. If not I still think they win it but Iowa(with a healthy Clark)and Oky. State both have a legitimate shot at them. Fosu is knocking on the door but not near as big of a threat to psu.
Anyone who thinks Clark is going to come back late in the season and dominate is kidding themselves, imo. He might come back, but I'm afraid it might be a bit painful just to watch.
I'm optimistic on 133 141 and hoping we put young in at 165(I think he has a shot at getting on the podium). Not looking good at 197:/ we need Brooks and Meyer to have great tournament.
Sounds like we will know this weekend about how Clark has recovered. Hope he wrecks whoever comes out to face him.

Lucky might not be the right word. He executed in the clutch. It could have not worked out and he could have lost, but he wasn't lucky.
Agreed. Haven't seen it yet but a guy like Hall seems to make his own luck. To beat him, one has to wrestle 7 minutes physically and mentally with a game plan. One lapse in either department, good luck.

Agreed. Can the staff PLEASE go out and sign arguably the best high school wrestler in the history of the country, please!?!??! A few more top 10 p4p guys to sign or commit wouldn't hurt either.
Sheesh. We can develop better. Got these really good upside, project type of guys coming in from PA and Illinois next year. Jacob Lee and Spencer Warner...er something like that. Brands is good at turning no name kids into something special.
