Maryland students are mainly jackasses (but I do admire their enthusiasm).

Ahmad Wagner is a dilemma -strong and athletic but unable to finish close to the basket far too often. I believe he is capable of much more.

Christian Williams is a very good perimeter defender.

Game plan was to feed Cook and he rose to the occasion.

Good move: having Baer defend Huerter for critical parts of the 2nd half.

Is Trimble in a slump or is he over-rated? Can't decide.

It seemed like half of Cook's points were scored left handed. What a weapon.

I wish players would use the bounce pass more often, especially inside passes.

Shooting wise, Moss seems to be where Ellingson was late last year -unsure and tentative.

Bohannon - what else can you say? the kid is a fearless shooter. He was in the zone today and even showed a little swagger late in the game. If he can add a reliable mid-range jumper next year he will be especially hard to stop.

The off-season and the Germany trip will be very important for the young guys. Competition for minutes next year will be very tough.

I worry that some players will digress with fewer minutes. Uhl and Wagner seem to have taken a step back at least offensively as their minutes have digressed.

I thought I heard that Cook is left-handed, but he shoots right-handed.

Im sure Bohannon can shoot fine from mid range, with the way his game and role is, the opportunity is very rarely there.

It would come into play more if he were to play off the ball.

Uhl is probably our best rebounder and he is good defender....too bad he has no offensive game. At this stage of his career, I don't think he will ever become a guy you can count on to make layups. Wagner at least can make layups around the paint, but the number of post players we have coming in means his PT is only going down next year.

Cook's stare scares my dog..he hid under his blanket.

Last 8 minutes of the game did you notice how quiet it was? Maryland students with the best seats( mid court) in the house and utter silence. So please explain to me how this is supposed to solve the issue at CHA? At least the Maryland students showed up for the start of the game, albeit they gave up at the end.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what happened to Uhl's outside shot. He seemed to have a nice stroke from beyond the arc his freshman year and now that stroke is gone. At times it seems as if he thinks about the shot and then decides not to. When he does shoot it's usually short or just too strong. If Uhl could find that rhythm again from the outside he could be a real weapon and the offense would open up for penetration by the guards.

Personally I enjoyed when the Maryland fans booed their own team. That's always fun.

Not sure I'd call it a "nice stroke" but it was going in last year. Not so much this year. He's totally gun shy now. Gonna lose some PT next year.

It was fantastic listening to the shoes squeaking late in the game and hearing our fan base cheering at the end. Great game.

Yes.....watched a lot of college bb in my time and I don't think I've ever heard an opponent's jammed filled arena as large as the Xfinity Center is and potentially as hostile as nu2 is saying be as quiet as it was yesterday.....really incredible and loved to say the young Hawks were the reason I experienced this. I enjoyed the Sounds of Silence very much......

Plus......they were celebrating a National Championship team......ahhh the memories....

Uhl had one super hot streak last year, like 9/11 from 3 to start B10 play, he was not a very good shooter outside of that last year.

ya for now I'm not so concerned about Dom's shot or shooting for that matter. He can & has helped us in other areas..such as rebounding ..even in the limited minutes he is getting.

I would love to see more of Dom as part of the Trap the Crap Out 'Em Team...Baer,Jok,Williams,etc...he has the length & quickness.

I forgot about the overseas trip. That's huge for the new guys. That is a lot of extra practices ahead of the season.

Nunge, Garza & Connor will benefit greatly from this trip. As will the others. Having all of these guys together will be very competitive. The practice scrimmages will be about as fun to watch as some of the games. Moreso really.

I am very interested to see what Dailey can bring to the table. We NEED more guards. His position is where Jok is, Wish he would have listened to coach and redshirted. But it is what it is... Maishe is long, athletic, has a decent shot, moves well with the ball and looks to have good vision for passing. He seems quick enough that his defense could be good as well...

Here is a link to show some of what I am talking about - Maishe Dailey Is he a hidden gem? We will see in about 9 months...

With Jok's 30+ minutes to be replaced. There will be time available for someone. It would be great if that someone shines, and rises above the rest.

That is funny...

We have not really seen much of that from Cook this year. I think he combined the whole season into one game.

I almost think that was planned. Fran in-game strategy?? Cook really got into Dodd's head. He was in foul trouble a lot of the game.

JBo's long 3s are fun to watch, those guarding him don't expect it, and when it goes in, he have the confidence to pull it from 1/3 of the court. When he's not on, he generally don't try to take too many unless he has to.
For awhile there I thought Rick Mount put an Iowa uniform and sneaked into JoBo's spot.

Uhl just has an ugly stroke with a low release point. The better question is how does he ever make a 3 point shot? I think last year was simply an aberration. Plus, he is being guarded out to the 3 now.

It doesn't matter who sits where when the opponent is hitting like Iowa was.

It was so cool when JBo made his 8th 3-ball and they panned over to the bench and his teammate (not sure who that is) starting counting to eight with both hands and just shaking his head.

Just seemed like the boys were having a lot of fun last night. And why not? Just an awesome performance.

I'm so giddy about the game still I'm going to watch the re-play and then catch Nicholas Baer on the Journey afterwards. Great way to wind down the weekend.

Its in his head. Sometimes he's wide open and won't pull the trigger. He's thinking too much. Watch when JBo is open, or jock. Ball in hand, ball is gone. No thought, just reflex and follow through.

I think J Bo has the mid range game. He has real trouble finishing at the rim and that distorts his 2 point percentage.

Thanks for the reminders. Maishe has the skills to play 1-3, I'm sure Fran wants to play him more this year but the opportunity to do so hasn't materialized like he hoped and now Fran can't disrupt what he has going . I hope he will keep working hard Now and in the off season, I think he can really be good but yet for this team. I think it has to do with playing within the framework and for whatever reason, Moss showed just a bit more , as did Williams, and Jordan and Ellingson. Jok being the one constant. If say Jok had graduated last year and Uthoff were still here I feel Maishe would have played and Kreiner wouldn't have. Next year the frontcourt will battle a bit more but with Conner coming in the competition doesn't diminish that much. That's what I see anyway. Thanks again for the Clio though, it was a good reminder of skills Maishe does have.

He seems to be understanding what he can and can't do and not looking to shoot much as the season progresses. He has to be used in the right situations though, playing him with Williams gives the other team two guys they can totally ignore on the perimeter.

Listened to FM speak to a large group right before the first game and someone asked him a question about what player could be a surprise this year. Fran mentioned Daily. Hasn't played a lot, but skill appears to be there. Might be a strength thing.

Hopefully he understands that he shouldn't be looking to shoot many mid range shots. Yesterday's game was a very efficient offensive attack, lots of shots at the rim, lots of 3's and little else.
