Fun atmosphere at the dual.
Big Maryland flag is waved.
I'm sure that is it legal>? lol
Ironside doesn't think it is locked
But they are still looking at it.
Appears to be no locked hands

Brands
The TD against BK was a time to get off
Theres more there
The Maryland coach wants a piece of Terry Brands.
<Grace and Ironside agree>

During the intermission can someone provide the projected lineup for next year. Don't recall who's got another year with some of our transfers. Thank you. :)
I know caliendo certified at 57. I doubt he can make it but if there’s any chance he can I would think he’d consider it especially with how the matches with Messenbrink have gone. I like his odds with Kasak if he can make it healthily.
25-deluca/Nil
33-Ayala
41- Nil or we’re screwed block isn’t making it again
49- Estrada/block/voinovich
57-caliendo
65-kennedy
74-arnold
84-ferrari
97-ludington/Nil
Hwt-kueter
Wishful thinking we’ll get all our studs in the line up but this would be a good line up. Hoping deluca can rs as he’s real small, 41 is a big concern, and haven’t seen much of ludington but what I have he looks like a beast

Askren Wrestling Academy seems to be doing pretty well when it comes to success at the collegiate level.

It’s a shame that Iowa hasn’t been able to get their foot in the door with them.
So disband their program so Iowa can get back to winning national titles.

Edit- but also because it's Askren that owns it and he will do everything he can to not see Iowa get back on top of the wrestling world.

Thanks for the feedback my friend! :)

So the drunk Maryland fan (at least I presume he was drunk) in front of me kept carrying on about Srirachi (like the sauce but with an ‘i’ at the end). He was complaining about the POS who ducked him. I wasn’t paying much attention until he turned to me during the 184 match and wanted me to engage. I couldn’t figure out who or what he was talking about until it finally hit me…Starocci from F*n State. I explained to him that coaches, not wrestlers, make these types of decisions but he wasn’t having none of it. Kept calling Arnold a POS. I turned to my family member afterwards and she also heard Srirachi. Anyway, good to see the Hawks in person.

I also got a shout out from Ironside for wearing some of his apparel.

The lack of understanding anything about the stall calls, the “interlocking” hands and calling 184 the match of the year lost my support for them. But yeah - you’re right - it gets worse on BTN+.
I’d assume most of these broadcast crews are college kids working on comm degrees. It’s what u get with wrestling. Seems like there’s two experienced crews maybe.

Fwiw, I still like Metcalf, just a little less now. I apologize for typing that earlier. I had some bad oranges for lunch.

I forgot to put this dual on my calendar and completely missed it, so watched the replay on YouTube. It was a good one to fast-forward through (should've done the same for Penn St).

Disappointed not to see Ayala and Teemer in what would've been two good matches. Had to settle for Arnold in a nail-biter-that-didn't-need-to-be-a-nail-biter, and Kueter in a close win. I'll take it for 45 minutes of time invested.

Going up to his more natural weight of 133 didn't seem to make Petersen any better, nor has five years in the Iowa room made Schriever any better. I don't quite understand how you can be in this program and do that, but I suppose everyone has a ceiling, either physically or mentally.

Looking forward to Nebraska.

Wasn't that @Maryland 2 years ago when the announcer thought he saw "an illegal fist to the back" 🤣🤣
Guy actually thought that was a thing. Lol

The blithering over PSU-Iowa dual was nauseating.

I like Schriever but kid struggles to finish his shots. Keep moving!

High level comment - I understand injuries, etc. But in no other sport do starters “sit” just because. (Yes, I realize NBA guys may sit from a strained toe)…

The regular season seems like a waste… Have your guys ranked… Keep them ranked … And sit them when there is a fear they could lose their ranking… All in prep for March…

Again… just general observation… Fans of the sport want to see the top guys battle each other - not sit “just because….”

Love wrestling and love the Hawks. And I appreciate what it takes to wrestle at this level … It’s just frustrating because it “seems” to happen more often where guys “sit.”

Nice to see young guys get a shot … But in no other sport do starters randomly just “sit” as much as they do in wrestling….And I know coaches are steering the bus … and making the call ….
