Menace you’re gonna hate me but……

In the long run, I think this will continue to evolve however.

Tough to remember now, but for anyone > 50 years old, they grew up in a sports world where America hadn't qualified for a WC from 1950-1990, numerous failed attempts at domestic leagues, etc. This current crop of US players who are 30 and under, are the first generation that grew up since we hosted in '94.
I think traditional US sports at the elite level will decline due to younger audiences. Our local hs of 1200 gets the better athletes if that is defined by speed and agility and we are a football traditional power.

Ive been a hs baseball basketball and soccer coach. I picked up soccer as an adult and played in a local league of mostly internationals before blowing up my knee. Its hard to learn soccer as adult. I had endurance and speed which in part compensated for skill. I could never match the skill so as a coach and player I focused on endurance and skill at speed.
