Isu has had majority black teams since Tim Floyd. And that's been consistent over the 6 or 7 coaches since.
Iowa has only had 4 coaches in that time and none of them have been good recruiters.
It's an example that you can recruit out of state to the state of Iowa with the right guy.
The administration at Iowa needs to put in more effort and money though.
I’m not saying it’s true today, but there was a time when Iowas admission & grade standards got in the way. Roy Thompson and some others come to mind.
I think Johnny Orr actually got ISU on the map for recruiting inner city black youths. His Detroit connections were invaluable.
