**** Men's NCAA Tournament ****

Isu has had majority black teams since Tim Floyd. And that's been consistent over the 6 or 7 coaches since.

Iowa has only had 4 coaches in that time and none of them have been good recruiters.

It's an example that you can recruit out of state to the state of Iowa with the right guy.

The administration at Iowa needs to put in more effort and money though.

I’m not saying it’s true today, but there was a time when Iowas admission & grade standards got in the way. Roy Thompson and some others come to mind.

I think Johnny Orr actually got ISU on the map for recruiting inner city black youths. His Detroit connections were invaluable.

Gonzaga..... NINE consecutive sweet sixteens.

Iowa..... ONE in 30+ years.
Can't recruit the quality of players Gonzaga gets to Iowa.
Fran is as good as coach as the Hawks can expect to have.
We're just lil' old Iowa and it is unrealistic to expect the Hawks to go to the Sweet 16.

Izzo has the tournament figured out.

They rachet up the physicality by about %50-60 vs the regular season right from the tip and the reffs won't do jack shit about it.

That's the formula that works every year.

Kansas was clearly not that good this year, even using the excuse they played in the B12. They lost badly - at least - a few times during the season.

And going out bigly today.

MSU hanging pretty tough vs #1 seed. 3 weeks ago Hawks handled them in East Lansing.

ISU and UNC have huge crowd edge in these games. Refs are affected.
Last season MSU made that run late and when all their guys came back I had MSU top 5 in country.

Now again making a run and W Booker and Carr looking good I am tempted to install them as favorites in BIG next season.
