Sometimes, that's what it takes! If that's what does it, then I'm all for it. As Gable would say, "When you have the artillery, you'd better use it!" He needed a wake up call; I'd say he got it. Hopefully we see him use his artillery going forward.
Thought it was a pretty good match by Sammy...Yea, Taylor rode the hell out of him but no back points and Sammy was aggressive on his feet. Was able to get to DT's legs quite a bit but it's that whole finishing thingIt's real tough on him. Kind of surprised DT didn't want to work neutral a lot more since mat wrestling doesn't really count for sh*t in freestyle...that is if he came to the Midlands to stay sharp.
I did not see the match but just to be within five points of Taylor is damned impressive. That's a great effort by Brooks. Color me impressed!
On the other hand, Meyer appears to be a little overrated at #3, after reading about his performance.

I am blown away he didn't finish that TD. He seemed to have it well in hand but just let go. I guess that a freshman vs. a senior(?) for you. Was dead tired at the end of the match.
Holy Cow, Kemerer was underhyped.
Wasn't his weight class in HS loaded to and he barely won a state title? Jeez. Hidlay, Joseph and who all else are gonna tear it up when their shirts come off

Think he ran out of gas after getting all of those TD's. Kemdawg has made some strides since last year. He lost two very close matches to AA types and dominated everyone else. Not many guys can make the leap...he will be just fine.
I'd like to see Kemerer win these matches but at the end of the day, he took the #7 ranked guy to the wire while leading most of the match and wrestled fairly well against the #4 guy. He could be an All American in his redshirt year. By next season he'll be very good.
