How does he get away with coming out on the floor during the game? He was pushing his player over to the other side of the basket because he was out of position to defend, basically setting up his defense by shoving his players in the right spots.. He was like 4 foot out of the box and on the court.

The refs have stopped paying attention to it. That's what I got.

Yup officials are going to let them on the court and if they run into an official it will be a Technical foul assessed to the coach.

Watching a couple of different games (IU vs Wisky, KU vs OU, LSU vs Kentucky) I could not believe there were coaches 3-4 feet onto the court. In one game I saw an official run "around" the coach to get down the floor. Im sorry but those officials need to get those coaches back, its going to get nasty and there will be a collision at some point this year.

Hell in football they have to be back something like 3 feet while the ball is "live". Basketball should be the same way.

I think just touching a player well the game is live should be a technical. you obviously see him push that guy over to get him into position because he was not where he was suppose to be. That should be a technical foul.

Although in general I'm in favor of it, I think head butting refs is where the line should be drawn. (Google it).

This. It's one thing to be out on the floor, but I couldn't believe he could grab his guy and push him to where he wanted him to be.

It is a pet peeve of mine, but obviously is not going to be called. I can (barely) tolerate it when the ball is at the other end of the court. But, when a coach is in bounds and the ball is at the end of the court, drives me wild. If the ball strikes an in-bounds coach is it dead or is it "play on" as if he isn't there?

good question.. about if the ball hits the coach. If I were a offensive player i would throw the dang ball at him. Maybe it resets the shot clock. or is a technical foul.

Should be an automatic T IMO.

I have always had the same thought ("if Miles can dodge a wrench, he can dodge a basketball"), but assume that the concept of Mutual Assured Destruction (both coaches want to be able to stand in-bounds) applies here.

Wow. I did not see this. Does anyone have a video or pic of it?

Maybe next time Miles can just take the ball and shoot it too.

Yes indeed.

Crean and Groce are nuts...folks want to talk about Fran being a lunatic...he simply has moments of extreme anger :) although anyone can see he has toned down his sideline act considerably since his ejection and suspension a couple years ago. Fran has been incredibly calm on the sideline this year, perhaps having four seniors and a junior in the starting lineup will do that for ya :)

Crean and Groce on the other hand are almost always pacing the sideline, often in the court of play, screaming and flailing/waving their arms, just acting like crazy men...and it goes on all game.

I saw Crean in a game a few years ago (not against Iowa) get stuck on the floor with an Indiana player and the opponent w/ the ball between him and the sideline. The ref had to call a dead ball and Crean was not assessed a technical but was given some sort of warning. Crean acted like he got caught with his pants down.

Those scenarios are going to turn bad here soon. I don't want to see it happen, but with some of these coaches on the floor, there are going to be collisions and someone will get hurt.

I was actually at a high school basketball game the other night and an official went down. There a person sitting in the front row (not supposed to be) but they were there and the official tripped over the persons foot and went down hard. Luckily he was a younger official and was able to get up. Couldn't of imagined if the official would of broken something, what would of happened.

Fran was actually having a number of lighter moments with the refs against Nebbie...either that they said some stupid & he was just laughing at them...

If you watch Crean he seems to be on the court more in the first half, while his team is playing defense, than he is in the second half while they are on offense. I am sure that is just a coincidence.

I think the Refs look over at the Nebraska bench and think, who's the nerd that came out on the floor. They're always waiting for someone who looks like a Big10 coach to show up. Must be why Miles seems to get away the crap he does. I also thought I saw him running 4 subs on late in the game without them all checking in at score table. That should be a TECH, as well.

Miles is a good guy though. Likes his whiskey! I was reffing a high school game last month and a little girl was on the court. The ball got stolen so as I was sprinting the other way, head turned to the action, I completely destroyed the little girl. She probably weighed 60 pounds & I'm 6'5 225 lbs. Oddly enough as bad as I felt, I was even more pissed at the girls parents than I was about feeling bad for trucking her.

Miles could be on the hot seat after this season. He is
not turning the Nebraska basketball program around.
It is actually regressing.

Anyone remember all those 'Love Posts' for Miles from this fan base a couple of seasons ago when they won a bunch of games in the B1G during the back portion of a cake league schedule and made the tourney? Those same folks questioning Fran's viability. Well, well times have changed my friends.

You mean like Nebraska is passing us with all those Chicago recruits?
