I think there are some that want a commitment from a kid on their visit, and threaten that it won’t be there when they leave.

I sincerely hope there are very few that go to lengths of the experience ISM had.

I think most schools tell players that other players are being recruited for their position and a scholarship may not be available later.

To an extent, unless it's a SUPER high recruit, I'm guessing this isn't horribly uncommon--however this exact tactic is BS. I would see something more like "look, we've got offers out to 8 WR's for 4 slots" sort of thing where the first 4 who commit get them, but ISM's story is like a high school girl fight!
