Does anyone know what he its going thru? He has been out for a bit this season. What exactly is his injury? He may be giving everything he has with a serious injury that will not heal up. Either way, the kid has paid his dues and deserves to be treated with some decency, not thrown to the curb because he no longer suits our fancy.
Didn't Minnesota win a dual against Illinois where they had 2 or 3 upsets? Maybe they are better than they are being given credit for.
Illinois is worse than MN.
We would have beat MN 8-2 or 9-1 with a full lineup...and most of our team looked disinterested or below their normal level.
I'm with you. Watching 197 has been absolutely brutal, and sadly more so when our 3-time AA stepped on the mat. What in the world is going on with Warner. Some folks talk about a knee injury he has/had, but I rarely see him showing any signs of a bad knee.
It’s his knee with the sleeve on that is injured. He limped off the mat after losing earlier this year. Looks to me like he doesn’t have the power/confidence with that knee. If you rewatch the 1st period against Foy, he had a few half offensive attempts (which in the past he would have tried to score on). It looks to me like he isn’t confident in that knee.
Just speculation, but if he has some serious knee injury a la Spencer Lee I guess they figure it’s not going to get any better with rest. I’m pretty sure he is also too far along for a medical redshirt so I guess he is just trying to gut it out. It’s sad really, Warner has been frustrating at times but he is a 3x AA and he’s a Hawkeye, so I would love to see him go out a winner. At this point I’m not counting on him to AA. Just looks to injured to compete well at this point.

Go ahead and belittle the wrestlers that are laying it all on the line for your entertainment, while you freely criticize that effort. I'm a PSU fan AND a fan of wrestling. Warner is a huge talent and a great kid from everything I've seen. He has the best sportsmanship of any wrestler I've watched. I recognize his skill and appreciate his effort.

My friend, I hope you're wrong. I'm hoping the knee is just a passing thing and some form of sickness other than what's currently been taking my wife and I down (COVID) is affecting him and causing him to be I guess lifeless for lack of a better word. My wife and I are going ton a couple weeks with one of us being positive for COVID but I know there's also some long-term respiratory thing going around as well. I just hate it for Warner! I've never liked his style much, but in the past he mostly found a way to win when it mattered, and sadly I don't see that in our current version of JWAR.
I can't wait for March when Warner wrestles Max again on Saturday night in Tulsa and makes some of you gag on the crap you are throwing at a first class wrestler and first class young man. In fact as a PSU guy Warner, Cass, and Abe are my 3 favorite Hawks.

Just read what he wrote above. Where did I or anyone ever criticizes his effort? Who said anything about his sportsmanship? Please show us all where you have seen me or anyone write this? He also claimed something about twitter which I am not on so there goes that claim you horses ass! All the other claims he made saying I bad mouth the kid is also false.
Now he will want to point to match grades, something we have been doing for as long as I can remember. Once again, I talked about how this is for us fans to generate more talk about our team. For example, I am about the biggest SL fan on this board. I have said I think he is the best wrestler in the world, and maybe the best wrestler I ever get to see.
In his last match, which was not up to LEE standards, I showed that in my grading. That does not mean I am putting the kid down! If this dork was truly a wrestling fan as he claims and not just some BS troll. He would clearly understand this. Matter of fact, why didn't he jump on me for other grades? I have done it for every match and have given poor grades based on performance to other wrestlers.
Maybe this is Warners mom? I do not know, but obviously she never read the part where i wrote how I and 99.9% of us could only wish to be as good a Warner!
I do believe I will now venture over to the F*** st board which I have never done. I will do the same crap that these A-holes do here. I do not know if they stole match grading from us? If they did, I wonder how they would have graded say, StarFISH over Brands by one? I am guessing they probably just give everyone an A+ like this fool would.

I've gone back to review the comments about JW here and on Twitter. After looking at all this material I have determined that I owe you an apology. The vast majority of the worst comments were posted by twitter trolls and I unfairly painted you with that brush. In fact, you didn't even make the worst comments in the Minny match thread. I really like Jacob Warner and it pissed me off to see how some supposed fans were coming at him. But in this case I shouldn't have directed my frustration at you, or HR at all.
So @IRONBIRD, I apologize for how I came at you. It was undeserved.

I hate social media, I make comments here for our fans and read most of what is posted because i know this is mostly Hawk fans (and some trolls) giving insight and general good content. We are passionate wrestling fans and sometimes we get a little over the top, it's the nature of the beast.
You still drink cheap wine but I guess apology accepted for now.

Fair enough, I do respect that you came on here and cleared the air. I will also admit I may have went off a bit too much. As you have said, NO wrestler should be openly bad mouthed by anyone. Honestly, this should be true for all sports, but wrestlers even more so because of how tough the sport is!
Most on here love the HAWKS. We are probably a little over the top even(?); when it comes to our favorite team. We truly want to see them win ever match every year! In the end though, what I have learned here maybe more then anything is. These fans on here, are TRUE wrestling fans. They want to see good hard fought matches. They have no ill will toward any wrestler. For example, If a top wrestler from another team goes down with an injury. Even if it could help an IOWA wrestler move up. They will honestly feel bad for the kid and would much rather not win in that way!
So at the end of the day, I do bust chops on "F*** st" here on our board ONLY! It is intended to be good natured ribbing against the team we need to take out! I have met several Lion wrestlers at clinics. Ed Ruth, the Alton brothers. I have nothing but the best to say about them, and I am sure if I get to meet more some day. It will be nothing but the same.
At the end of the day, hopefully we all got a good laugh from this!
