SCOUTING NORTHERN ILLINOIS
» The Huskies return three of their top five scorers from last season’s squad in
Brooke Stonebraker (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles), Sidney McCrea (Cedar Rapids,
Iowa/Prairie) and Brooke Blumenfeld (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North). Stone-
braker was named to the Mid-American Conference’s Preseason All-MAC Second
Team.
» NIU also returns guard Chelby Koker (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) for her
sixth year after missing the 2023-24 season due to injury. Koker has been an
All-MAC selection three times in her career. In 2023 Koker was named to the All-
MAC Second Team after averaging 15.4 points and 3.4 assists per game.

SERIES HISTORY
» Iowa leads the all-time series, 7-5.
» The Hawkeyes have won the last three matchups dating back to 2007.

WHAT’S TRENDING?
» Iowa has won 24 consecutive season openers dating back to Nov. 17, 2000.
» Lucy Olsen has netted 20+ points in 10 out of last 11 starts.

Jan already has two 100+ to 50+ wins under belt. I'm expecting her to keep that trend going. N. IL was beaten by 21 points against Wisconsin last year. They just played a tough game 2 days ago, so I'm hoping they're not so fresh this early in the season to take on a track meet and keep up. GO HAWKS!

We should win comfortably (knock on wood), but this is a better opponent than we usually open the season with -- NET had been high 100s two-three seasons prior, dropped to mid 200s last season after their PG Chelby Koker got hurt. Koker is sort of a C-rate version of Caitlin in terms of her stats and usage. Can score but also reckless.
