NBA CHAMPIONS TORONTO RAPTORS!!!!

That was great!! Hard to believe Curry has never hit a shot to give his team a lead in the playoffs with less than 24 seconds left.

Ehh, kinda easy for me to believe. They're frequently up double digits in the late 4th quarter. And he's a smaller guard who's getting bumped no matter what during crunch time when refs are swallowing whistles. He's constantly stalked by defenders from 50 feet out because his game demands that respect. He beats you in the third quarter, not in final shot situations.

Yup. Leonard can walk away and Toronto should feel bad at all.
Especially since it was reported after the trade that he didn’t even want to be there. Not sure where he’d go now though. Guy is literally an idol in Toronto

I think it will inspire Boston to do it with Davis.

Uijri trading his second best player (DeRozan) for a guy on a one year deal was an all time move
Lowry was usually the goat when DeRozan was on the roster and they got beat by LeBron's teams. The perception was that DeRozan was the younger future superstar. The perception was that he traded his best player, not his second best player. For an MVP guy on the last year of his deal. It pays off no matter what now. They got rings. Kawhi can sign with an expansion team in Saskatchewan and Ujiri still wins on a ballsy ass gamble.

Definitely in the playoffs, where Lowry has choked. Just strengthens my point

The injury excuse is bullshit. Injuries are part of the game. Raptors straight up beat the Warriors. They earned this title.

Uh...tonight’s game. Where he had 30 before being injured. And, the Warriors would’ve won if it wouldn’t have happened.
**** off. You sound like my dad. Warriors deserved to be put in place. California here we come. **** off, seriously.

I think the Warriors would have won the game if Klay had stayed in, but that’s ball. Depth is part of the calculus. And Curry sucked tonight. That’s on him.
I think the Warriors would have won the series if Kevin Durant was available and he was not available. Kindly **** off, Warriors fans. No excuses for that bunch. They lost. And their fans and apologists should **** off.

I don’t like the Warriors, but someone saying they would have won had Klay not gotten hurt isn’t being an “apologist.” It’s being real. I wanted the Raptors to win, and they wouldn’t have had Klay not gotten hurt. I’m going to guess you were just drunk last night which led to you telling everyone that disagrees with you to **** off.

Two really good organizations. Rosters full of committed competitors. I feel like if you have a negative emotional response to anybody on either roster you might have some issues to consider. Or maybe turn off ESPN and/or sports talk radio from time to time.

Steph is a good dude. Yeah, annoying he’s great at golf, too. But damn, some misplaced hate.

I’m a huge Kevon Looney fan after this season and postseason. Dude battles, and through serious pain.

Solid post. Also agree about Looney. You could tell he was in some serious pain but never backed down.

What a neat NW Iowa fact: Nick Nurse is from Carroll, His top assistant Nate Bjorkgren is from Storm Lake.

I knew Nurse was from Carroll, but did not know the assistant part. That’s pretty coo.
I grew up in SL - Nate was just getting done with college when I was in HS and Nate did the volunteer coach thing for a year or so with my team before taking in the boys head bball coaching gig in Sioux Rapids (Sioux Central HS). I think he did that for a year or two before moving to AZ and really getting his career kicked off. But Nate’s profile’s never mention those first two years as the boys hs coach in Iowa. The profiles show his coaching career starting in Arizona and winning a state title.

That’s because he was sleeping with your mom and would rather that be kept relatively private.

Exactly. Golden State caught a break last year when Chris Paul went down. It's part of the game and the breaks even out.

I think it was already a good trade before they won the title, Toronto had proven what their ceiling was with Lowry and DeRozan. Really good regular season team, that couldn't get out of the East. They took their shot in a year the East was wide open and it paid off. They also made a hell of a case to keep Kawhi, they managed his minutes as well as they could, kept him healthy for when they needed to ride him, put a great supporting cast around him. They can run back pretty much the same team next year and then have basically a blank slate to build the year after, they have no bad long term deals and a very solid front office and coaching staff. If he leaves for the Clippers or someone, Toronto knows they did everything they could.
