NCAAW-- other games

GT was down double digits, but cut it to just 3 pts at the half. Keeping up with ND. They run a nice cutting offense.

OSU vs. PSU
Both teams tied going into the 4th, then both teams go on 6 minute scoring misses midway. PSU with a 2pt. lead with 20 seconds remaining.

PSU hits enough free throws necessary to win it. OSU gets a 3pt shot off to tie, but just rims out. Huge win for Penn St.-- Elliot was pretty inconsequential. OSU did not impress.

Oh yeah, this big game played in front of the PSU band and a few hundred people.

SC up 28-9 over #13 Oklahoma after 1st quarter.

LSU win today makes them first to 20 (20-0)

UConn wins a conference game by 60 pts. Joke schedule.

Well it looks like tOSUs coach blew the game 😂 and u can’t fathom how PSU win, they e for 9 losses

Minnesota down to NW at halftime 44-40

Northwestern went up 16 pts. in the 4th quarter, only to collapse. Minnesota just kept playing, their freshman hit a big 3, and they took the lead with 90 seconds to play. NW with bad turnovers and a few missed free throws. Minnesota wins 87-82 (17-2 record).

#7 Texas beats #8 Maryland by 38pts. 89-51
38?! Not sure how that happens, but guessing Maryland didn't start the game hitting eight 3s.

Looks like Bri McDaniel (13/5/2 vs. Iowa) didn't play (ACL), and Shyanne Sellers left the game in the 3rd quarter (knee).

Maryland went 0-7 from 3pt line as a team, and took only 42 attempted shots. Against Iowa they went 12-25 from 3pt. line.

Wonder how the injuries might effect upcoming games in the Big Ten, especially if Sellers misses a lot of time.

#12 OSU (Home) takes down #8 Maryland (Away) 74-66.

Maryland had 2 key players out that played against us.

"Maryland guard Shyanne Sellers will be out against No. 12 Ohio State due to a knee injury she suffered during Monday's 81-59 loss against Texas. Sellers is currently listed as day-to-day and did not make the trip to Columbus for Thursday's game."

Maryland's Bri McDaniel was already out to a season-ending ACL.

Star frosh Jaloni Cambridge was back in lineup today of OSU and was high point for both teams with 20.

Think OSU is still upset prone. Not that scary, imho.

Back on Wednesday, USC defeated Purdue 79-37. What I didn't notice until just now is that USC won the second quarter 31-2. Yikes.

Wisconsin beats Michigan 82-75.
12-25 from 3pt line, took the lead back with 3 minutes to play, hit clutch free throws to seal it.

In front of hundreds in Madison.
Nice win for Wisconsin and first non-ranked loss for Michigan (14-7)

Syla Swords with 18pts.
Michigan's "other" 5-star frosh, Olivia Olsen: 30pts.

Games tonight:
#13 Oklahoma vs. #7 LSU
#22 Alabama vs. #12 Kentucky
#15 UNC vs. #19 California
Minnesota vs. #4 USC (10pm ET Peacock)
Oregon vs. #16 MSU (6pm ET BTN)

*Expecting Oklahoma/LSU to go to the wire, but rooting for Oklahoma to knock them down.
*USC's warm-up before traveling to Iowa City. Interested to see if Minny can hang. First ranked/big test for that team.

Great game. Oklahoma was down big the entire game, but somehow came back from -15 in the 4th, cut it to 1pt with a minute to play 100-101. LSU manages to drill a 3, and Oklahoma couldn't get it together.

Rutgers led Illinois the entire game, but Illinois came back and tied it with a minute to play. Rutgers had ball in a tie game with 20 seconds to play and got called for a charge. OT went to Illinois.

Oregon led MSU wire to wire. Was close at the end, but Oregon got it done.

*Would probably have benefited Iowa for both of those games to swing the other way.

Their freshman Howell can light it up from 3.
Pick your poison.
Had Watkins frustrated, but she's finding points. Maybe you get those charging calls at home? Best way to stop her.

I'd be happy if iowa plays as well as Minnesota did. Lost by 13, but they had a shot in there that would have cut the lead to 4.

I hope Iowa takes a page out of the Clark harassment playbook and gets JuJu off her game. If they are passive with her she's going to get 30+

I'm guessing we let the media dictate that USC be the game to do the ceremony. I don't like the choice. Playing a team that will likely clobber us puts a damper on the night and you know the media wants to blow the JuJu horn all night. I hope we target to keep her down at least. I would prefer they treated this event like homecoming and picked a night vs a weaker team.

Well, they probably wanted to do it on a weekend, so you were looking at Maryland, Indiana, USC, UCLA, or Wisconsin. You wanted a weaker team, so you are looking at Wisconsin, which is Senior night. Iowa isn't going to take the focus off of the current seniors, so that game was out.

Saw some highlights of Oklahoma vs LSU. Without a doubt, in my mind, women's college ball exceeds pro ball.

As far as entertainment & excitement. Most assuredly but the regional & conference rivalries and tradition & pomp & circumstance is hard to replicate.
