NDSU to replace Iowa State as Rivalry game

Ok, lets not beat around the bush year.

Yea, both NDSU & Iowa curb stomped Iowa State Recently.

Therefore, the hot rumor is NDSU will be replacing Iowa State as your rivalry game, Iowa State will focus more on their rival UNI Panthers or Drake perhaps.

NDSU's Former AD & Former NDSU QB Gary Barta have told me this has a chance of happening.

NDSU is 3-0 recently vs Big 12 teams & quite frankly we are not going to move up to the Big 12, why?? we've already proved our dominance there.

Looking forward to the start of this rivalry on saturday!

No chance at all. NDSU tried to get one with Minnesota, but, after taking a beating, Minnesota did not like that idea much.
 
There's no doubt that NDSU's program and team is better than ISU's. Having said this, the Bison fans need to be knocked down a peg as evidenced by the OP and it'll be interesting to see what happens on Saturday. Would just add that not even winning multiple national titles in a row can make those uniforms look good.
 
We are not Iowa State. We do not get beat by FCS teams. You will get the typical mid major treatment at Kinnick. Seriously, you guys, smh.
 
I see you guys have met Lakes. Lakes meet Hawkeye Report, Hawkeye Report meet Lakes.

Lakes has the distinction of getting banned at almost every message board he visits.

FargoDome seats something like 18K .. no way Ferentz is taking the Hawkeyes to play in a cracker box. If they ever bring back JV football I'm all for it.
 
really amping up the stupid today, huh? The Big Ten made it clear two years ago that there will be no more FCS schools to be scheduled. This will be your one and only trip to Kinnick.

I suggest Wig and Pen pizza although some fools will try and steer you toward Pagliai's. Maybe grab a drink on the roof at 30Hop in Coralville or if you want to go old school college town I would suggest Joe's Place on Iowa Ave. Have a fun trip.

Enjoy Iowa City Bison fans. I was at the game in Manhattan, KS in 2014 when you beat KSU. Atmosphere there was electric. They were dedicating the new stadium improvements, BCS win, Big12 champs, etc., and you guys took care of business and manhandled them. Fun watching you guys take down the B12 champs.

I was sitting in the Bison visitors section with a buddy of mine from Fargo that year. Will be with him again in the visitors section again in Kinnick. We've had this game on our calendar for a couple years. But this time I won't be cheering with you.

I too had the pleasure of defeating a Bill Snyder coached KSU team in Manhattan and it was with Bison HC Chris Kleiman as my teammate. This post of yours makes me even more nervous for this game...here's hoping the Hawks get on them early and often.

well, I see this has been picking up speed tonight. this thread has been picked up by a few news outlets, im expecting deadspin soon, i refuse to answer andy & murphs phone calls begging me to come on. They dont deserve a LakesBison ratings bump!

NDSU has room on campus next to thier newly finished $50 million 6700 seat brand new basketball arena.

Sources tell me with 4 major donors at $25 million each gives NDSU a $100 million 42,000 seat semi enclosed stadium where NDSU keeps all the revenue.

The Big 12 entrance fee will easily be paid upfront with Oil Money or Microsoft stocks as Fargo is flush with both

I would love it if the Big 12 offered NDSU membership. My advice would be to make it an extremely convertible semi enclosed stadium. Bowl it in and make it possible to set up an extra 10-15 k in street level bleacher seating for some big September/October games. Take full advantage of any corporate sponsorship who will assist the project.

Have them set aside a couple hundred bucks to upgrade the uniforms. Anything will be an improvement. Can repurpose the old/existing ones for rodeo clown scarves.

That's a good comeback and well earned. But you're playing in a smaller division and I'm not sure that having a no. 2 QB taken in the draft translates to a bunch of NFL players who are gonna beat this Iowa team on Saturday. We shall see.

$100m is a third of what will be needed. TFC was $300m in 2009. Kinnick remodel in 2006 was $90m. They are planning another remodel for the end zone for around the same amount.

To put it simply, if you the Coyotes can punk you in your own house what do you think a Top 10 Power 5 program with an attitude is going to do to the Bison?

Your FBS killer rep and Fargo Gamedays is not going to allow you to fly under the radar anymore, probably why you guys didn't even schedule an FBS game last year. The Bison are in for a long day Saturday. Gameday Iowa F'in City makes the West Lot of the FargoDome look like kindergarten roundup. You are playing in the bigs now, boy.

NDSU is a regional school, 50% Minnesotan so youre dam right theres Minnesotans up here and im 1 of them because we all know NDSU is head & shoulders above the gophers. south dakota is cute, wentz broke his wrist so we lost by a last second field goal.

NDSU is already in the Big 12 for Wrestling, theyve beat 3 straight big 12 football teams and Beat Big 12 champ Oklahoma in the big dance 2 years ago.

if freakin podunk ames iowa or manhattan ks can be big 12 with 50,000 population... pretty sure FARGO and its 175,000 population and Northern/West Central Minnesota fanbase could out perform those 2 easily.
