Nebby's Asst Coach

In the last 15 years:

Nebraska has given up:

70 points or more 3 times!
(70pts Texas Tech 2004, 76pts Kansas 2007, 70pts Wisky 2012)
60 points to 69pts 4 times. (62pts Colorado 2001, 65pts Colorado 2007, 62pts Oklahoma 2008, 63pts Ohio State 2012)
50 points to 59pts 3 times. (52pts Missouri 2008, 59pts Wisky 2014, 55pts Purdue 2015)

Blackshirts??

Iowa has given up:

70 points or more zero times.
60 points to 69pts zero times.
50 points to 59pts one time.
(51pts Minnesota 2014)

Because theyvare NOT a top 5 all time. Not even top 10. Gimme a break. Go over .500 this year then we can recovene. Until then tell your top 5 all time worst qb to throw it to his team mates. Better yet dont. Hes our best player on defense
Look at the all time win totals. conference titles, National titles. Top 5 program. And their QB is the reason we beat them. They doubled us in yardage.

Funny thing is last time huskers made a big bowl game, 15 long years ago, they played just as bad and got stomped by Miami in the rose bowl.

Nebby fans remind me of some of guys on HS football team from back in the day. Go back home all they talk about was how awesome they once were and living in the past but no one cares besides the select few of them. Yet most of them are nobodies doing some piss poor paying job but all the can do is talk about the past cause the present isn't that great for them.
Iowa should know all about getting "stomped" in the Rose Bowl after the greatest season in school history! Just a year ago most Iowa fans wanted Kirk fired and Greg Davis was an idiot. I respect the season you had, now go back it up with multiple years before you act like world beaters.

That's pretty much how most of their glory seasons went. Roll thru the NoDefense Big 8/12, then get stomped in the bowl game. Now that they're in a conference that plays D, all they can do is talk about the glory days.

Yes, Iowa got manhandled by Stanford in the Rose Bowl and arguably the best player in America. UNL got manhandled by Purdue. Hmm?

Good point. I had to live there for a few years. Tunnel vision. They know the 3rd string guards pets name but couldnt name a single player on a top ten team.

No the real reason why we lost is Walk-on and backup QB started his first college game and threw 4 interceptions and Fumbled early in the first quarter and Purdue scored 28 points off turnovers.

And our last Rose Bowl appearance we were pounded by the National champions and one of the better teams in college football history ( 2001 Miami Fla) that is the comparison.

That's not accurate. If I'm going to call out the Nebraska trolls when they're wrong, I've got to be consistent and call out Iowa fans when they are wrong.

Nebraska is top 5 all-time in wins. Most reasonably sane college football gurus would place them as a top 5 program of all-time.

Tommy Armstrong threw 4 interceptions against Iowa, so that is circular reasoning and poor rationale. I'm not saying that in a derogatory sense, I'm saying there are many factors that influence a football game.

Nebraska got their ass handed to them by Purdue. Plain and simple. It's what we call an aberration, or, colloquially, "shit happens."

This is true.

In the Big 8.? Their only competitor was Okie. That went on for decades

One, that's not true. And I'm not going to go back through all the years in which the Big 8 had seasons in which other teams not named Nebraska or Oklahoma were good.

Yeah, and the Big 10 used to be the Big Two and the Little Eight, but Ohio State and Michigan are still regarded as two of college football's all-time best.

Let's be reasonable here.

TA starts and plays in that game we don't fall behind early and control the game apparently you didn't watch the game or forgot how it unfolded.DPE was also lost that day with a season ending injury.

A healthy CJ Beathard and Iowa beats Nebraska by 20 +.

Injuries are part of the game. Ask Drew Ott.

Nebraska got throttled. Plain and simple. So take your "wah wah we were banged up" boo-hooing elsewhere.

They have....880 wins to our 625, 46 conf titles to our 13, 5 national titles to our 0, 52 bowls to our 29, 3 Heisman's to our 1, 54 All Americans to our 25. A huge win advantage head to head, 29-14. They have won more games against power 5 opponents than anyone else in football. They have also been better than us since they joined the Big.
History is history, whether one year or 100 years.

Nebraska didn't get throttled. They doubled us in total yardage. We took advantage of mistakes just as we did all season.

We were talking about the Purdue/Nebraska game not the Iowa/Nebraska game.

So what I said, with a lot more detail. Yep.

You did bring up both when you said Armstrong threw 4 ints against Iowa too.... Just saying.;)

Lol. Yes, I did, and for the purpose of comparing apples to apples.

Your point seemed to be Nebraska gave up 55 against Purdue because their back up quarterback threw 4 INTs and wasn't named Tommy Armstrong. Well, then...

Not only that, I threw Nebraska a bone saying it was an "aberration" and not consistent with their play all season. But on the point of Nebraska getting their asses handed to them, uhhm, yes, Purdue hung 55 on them.

Scarletred, I am one Iowa fan that sees this as it is and am glad to have NU in the BIG. I have watched NU and ISU play several times, being from Adel. You have a really good coach now. I wish you would have kept Bo, though, would be better for us.

Everyone scores points off your low IQ QB's. Why aren't they coached better? Why did your defense give up 500 yards to Purdue? Your excuses are tiresome. Just admit one time that your program has fallen to a middle of the pack program similar to Iowa. The 1990's are long, long gone.

Wow awesome another Nebraska history lesson. I can see posting that on your own board and get being proud about your history and all. But you are a complete idiot if you think anyone cares about what Nebraska football did over 20 years on an Iowa message board.

If you want to relive your glory days maybe you should take it to a different place.

Except I'm not millennial. I'm just not as freaking old as your crusty old ass.

That's great you and Minnesota have a bunch of ancient history to pass down . It's weird we don't see them over here pounding their chest about things their teams did back in the day.

You could just start chanting "who hates Iowa" like they do. Get used to it bub.

Hey Buckwheat, Iowa and Minnesota are both over 200 wins behind Nebraska. Iowa is "Minnesota light" which means Minnesota minus any National Titles.

Iowa fan? Right. You should post something other than pro big red stuff. It's ok if you're a Nebraska fan - don't be embarrassed to admit it. I know it sucks that Iowa is better than Nebraska currently but remember it's only sports. Hey at least Nebraska had more yards than Iowa last year as you've pointed out in several posts.

What does being from Adel have to do with watching Nebraska and Iowa State?

I have a lot of family from Adel on my mom's side who have graduated from there from the 1970s to early 1990s. I'm not seeing the connection.

For the main point of the thread on the WR coach and his punishment. This article does a great job of summing up the weak punishment handed out. Plus love how he states only husker fans think punishment is fair but it's basically a joke to everyone outside of Nebraska and isn't sending the best message to student athletes. So for all the husker trolls calling out Iowa fans thinking punishment doesn't fit the crime well guess what it's basically everyone outside of husker land.

Short drive, fun game to see, great tailgating. Yes we did beat them last year, and will expect to do the same this year.

Dude serious, stfu BC Purdue put 50+ points on you....it's that simple.....you are not that good anymore and if can't admit that then idk what to tell you.

Guys I think your missing the point. The 1995 husker were the greatest team to ever play the game of football...... ;) Carry on.

There is no defending the schedule so you should just own it and accept that at best hawk football is little brother to at least 6 other programs in the B1G.

Name em.

Ohio State - Yes. We don't have the talent to compete with them on a yearly basis.

Michigan - Not really. Iowa is 4-1 against Michigan since 2009 and 6-5 overall in the Ferentz era.

Penn State - No. 9-4 since 1996. Destroyed their National Title shot in 2008.

Nebraska - I have seen nothing to believe that Nebraska is a better program or has better overall talent than Iowa since joining the B1G. Your quarterback is terrible and Taylor Martinez threw like a bitch. Pelini has Iowa roots and brought you guys some good seasons. Your fanbase made a mistake running him out. We also had the pleasure of giving you Kaz before he self-destructed... He sure carries that Nebraska "name brand" recognition now.

Michigan State - 7-7 in the Ferentz era. Dantonio copied our model, negatively recruits against us, and runs a dirtier program. MSU recruits better wideout and defensive talent. Every game we play vs. them is an epic slugfest.

Wisconsin - 7-8 in the Ferentz era. They copied our program as well and owe all their success to the state of Iowa (Barry Alvarez). They recruited who we recruited when Bielema was there and he's still pulling the same shit. Going after our 4* CB. That fat f*** should never step foot in Iowa again.

What other programs did you have in mind?

I am impressed how the drunk, err uhhhh, I mean coach has taken full responsibility. Admitted he made a mistake. Promised to never do it again. Started counseling. Oh yeah, and pleaded not guilty.
Wonder if he made that same promise after his 1st and 2nd DUI's too.

Well it's obvious to me after reading this thread that all of the Nebraska fans who predicted that Iowa would never measure up as a suitable rival of the mighty Big Red were completely full of crap. The butthurt is flowing strong in Lincoln these days.

Oh and by the way, nice slap on the wrist there Riley. Don't let team discipline and setting an example get in the way of your recruiting plans. Stay classy always Bugeaters.

Remind me: Who is Iowa? Never heard of them.

To refresh your memory. Iowa is One of seven teams who beat you last year. It was on senior day in Lincoln where your qb threw 4 ints. But for a person not knowing who Iowa is you like to post and lurk around here quite a bit. Kind of interesting...mr husker troll.
