Nick Henrich commits to Nebraska

Well that proves the point right there doesn't it?.

Gonna brag about beating a 7-5 Boston College team by 7 points with Iowa as a double digit line favorite! Yes GREAT performance for the lone win in a bowl game for years.
Old Kirk had em ready that day! Give him a raise!

Where am I bragging about it? You claim they can’t win bowl games and they just did.

Your messiah TO could never win a bowl game until his last few years yet I don’t cherry pick those.

Are we not intertained? Yes we are.
Pure joy seeing NU fans walking and talking like little brother. Congrats to all you ‘git er done’, knuckle draggin, sister molesting, toothless meth heads. You pulled a kid from your own back yard and your yappin like Clown fans. Your insecurity is palpable.
Awesome!
That's the way you spell Entertained in Iowa?
Very intelligent post that I am sure a lot of people respect east of the Missouri River. You lost me at Intertained though.

Nebraska fans have nothing to do on Saturday night again? I see they were all over here bragging about getting a commitment from a Nebraska lean, from Omaha. Well I'll be.

Bold prediction:

Scott Frost will be no more successful at Nebraska than Rich Rodriguez was at Michigan. His style of offense has been tried and proven not to be up to the physicality of Big Ten defenses. Maybe the ACC or PAC-10 or whatever G5 conference UCF was, but not the Big Ten. Anyone else agree?
It didn't work against that soft SEC defense did it=
Oh wait the out manned little UCF did what?
Milton threw two touchdown passes and ran for 116 yards with another touchdown, leading No. 10 UCF to a 34-27 Peach Bowl win over No. 7 Auburn on Monday.

Then it was time to boast.
UCF (13-0) led 34-20 before having to stop a late Auburn comeback.

U must have missed the Auburns players comments then leading up to that game. They were ready to play especially since the UCF player threw down bulletin board material for them to fire them up.

U are just graspung at straws if u dont think Aubby wasnt ready to play that game.

Its cute though.
Lol, keep telling yourself that. Since the inception of the BCS and now NY6 bowls, every team that is scheduled to play the G5 opponent is disappointed.
Happens every year. Not one team in the Big10, ACC, sec, Big12 or PAC that earns a NY6 bowl are never happy getting paired up with a G5 school. While everyone else gets marquee match ups.

So many points to make in so little time.
1) Henrich looked like a good player. So did Honas. We would have loved to have had both here. No sour grapes from me. But after Honas chose NU, Iowa got a kid out of GA that really looks the part. The Hawks have several good-looking underclassmen who show promise.
2) I have no idea which coach is better. Pellini has a larger body of work to scrutinize. What Frost did last year was impressive, no question. Right now, proclaiming him a coaching H o F'r is like one of our fans drooling over how stacked we are at RB-they look the part but haven't proven anything yet. One year of anything doesn't prove a thing.
3) You guys have been ass pounded since you came to the B1G because of your lack of physicality. This didn't start with Riley. Bo's little-black-dress defense gave up 70 in the ONE BiG championship you have played in. And the common theme I see in this thread is "Iowa only beat NU when we had a crappy coach." Partially true. Iowa didn't have much success historically against NU. Saint Tom did lose here in 81. But it is laughable who you think were crappy coaches. Solich-.750 winning record. Callahan-OK, crappy coach. Who chased Solich away and replaced him with that turd? Pelini-.700 record and 100% an asshat. Who hired him then fired him? You guys have been unsuccessfully looking for Bear Bryant since Osborne retired.
Which brings me to my point: since NU has been irrelevant in the B1G due to their lack of toughness, how do you think a guy who hides in a closet while a teammate beats the shit out of his girlfriend is going to be the one to instill that?
And one last thing-is coming to another team's message board to gloat over winning a 3* hometown LB a sign of a fanbase that is secure in their knowledge they are on solid ground?

I'll be waiting for your response. Not
Oh little brother is triggered

Really sad to see how misguided and confused some of our youth are today. I guess some are just to blind to see the light. He would have been a surefire NFL top draft pick going through our program, now his future is in peril. We didn't need him anyway. We backed off him cuz he's really not that good.
That's a hell of thing to say about a kid.

So did we. His name was Todd Lickliter. Coach of the year doesnt always mean long term success. That said, I dont think Frost will ever be as bad as Lickliter and he probably wont be a bad coach at all.

But thanks for telling us about games that happened awhile ago.
Iowa is 1-3 vs Nebraska when we had a decent coach.

Oh my you are a db. Gtfo of here with your dribbling nonsense.

Dude u should use some google. There were several articles quoting Aubby players saying they were going to shut down UCF.

UCF dude ran some smack at Aubby that said they havent seen their type of speed yet playing in the SEC.

Dont kid urself, Aubby was not sleepwalking through that game. This was a 10-3 aubby team not some 1 loss team that was pissed caused they missed a shot at a natty.

Try again.

Most people believe Nebraska was the better team in '97. It wasn't Nebraska's fault Michigan couldn't play us. Most experts say Nebraska would have been favored by at least 7.

The Vegas capper I heard on the radio back then had NU as a 13 point fave in a neutral site game...which is probably more accurate.

Didn't these fools get their ass handed to them 56-14 in the very last game they played? Butt still hurts, I guess?

I’m not sure I agree with this. Our last 6 starting LBs have all got looks in the NFL. Hitchens and Kirksey are each making around $9 million a year if you count bonuses and everything. Hitchens has a 5 year $45 million contract. I’d probably take Jewell, Hitchens and Kirksey over about any combination of Norms LBs.
Hitchens and Kirksey had 2 years being influenced by Norm. Furthermore, Jim Reid has a fabulously talented defensive mind. Hitchens and Kirksey were also strongly influence by Jim Reid.

I agree that Josey Jewell was a great Hawkeye LB. However, he too was strongly influenced by Jim Reid. The issue deals with a LB unit ... and the national perception of its success as a unit.

Lastly, looking at Iowa LBs under Norm ... we're talking about Barr, Steen, Hodge, Greenway, Edds, Tarpinian, Angerer, and Hunter .... among others. When measured as college LBs ... and looking at the strength of Iowa's LBs as a unit ... few places were better.

Your a ****ing idiot if you think a school from the second that makes a NY6 bowl wants to play a G5 opponent. It is very disappointing not matter what you tell yourself.
Have a look and see for yourself, pages upon pages of people not caring about the UCF game.

How about that for Google? And before you say it, no coach or player is going to say publicly that they are not interested in play a game, any game against anybody for that matter. AUBURN didn't care and neither did their fans.

Nebraska fans can puff their chests out as much as they wish. It still won't change the outcome by the time the season comes around. The Hawks are slated to most likely have quite a good season ... and the Hawks will most likely top it off with a nice victory over the Huskers AT Kinnick!

I'm happy to back up my prediction with action too ... I'll swear off these boards for 2 years if the Hawks don't win. I'm that confident that the Hawks will win!

What is funny/sad is since 01 Nebraska has endured some of the darkest times in our history. Iowa has been basically living in their “glory years”. Their over record from 01 through last year is 139-78. Nebraska record has been 140-78. Pretty sad that we are that close to you. Good is the enemy of great, we won’t settle until we are back...they are good with with being“solid”. This is going to be a fun ride

I just crack up at the stupidity. Nebraska is the best! Iowa has never been relevant! Your on an Iowa board you morons! They very fact that you are here says it all. I have never been to a Nebraska board. Why you ponder? Because Nebraska is a relic of the past and inconsequential now and for the foreseeable future.

How about winning something of relevancy so that the old trophy case isnt empty forever.
You would take Ferentz huh?
No wonder it is still empty!
That "old trophy case" has been holding the Heroes' Trophy for many years ~ apparently something Husker fans don't find "something of relevancy!"

So you point me to fans reactions to the game? Luckily it is not the fans that were strapping it up and playing in that game. You IGNORE the quotes from the actual Auburn PLAYERS the ones playing in the game. WGAF what the Aubby fans reactions were, they were not the ones playing in the game.

Love your logic, probably why your middling coach keeps getting raises each year and gets a bonus if he wins 7 whole games.

Here is an actual quote from Aubbys star running back on whether or not they were not motivated for the game:

Running back Kerryon Johnson bristled in the postgame locker room about a lack of enthusiasm being a reason for arguably the season's most disappointing loss.

“Just like every game this year, every game Auburn plays, every game I play in, every game Malzahn coaches in, it’ll be the same mentality — outside talk is just that, outside talk,” Johnson said. “To those who thought we weren’t motivated, you’re not in our locker room, you’re not in our practices, you’re not in our meeting rooms. Obviously they don’t know what is going on. We were plenty motivated to get this win. (We) just literally shot ourselves in the foot.”

This quote is in addition to all of the Aubby players quotes leading up to the game. LOL
They were not playing some middling 3-4 loss non P 5 team, they were playing a team that was upset they were getting no respect.

Try again.

Good grief. A damn wave of Nebraska trolls came over to let us know a 3* LB that lives in Nebraska picked them?

Would have liked to have him, but he picked Nebraska, so life goes on. I didn't lose any sleep over it.

It's amazing to me how many proclamations of greatness are being spewed about Frost. The guy hasn't coached a down of Big Ten football.

I like how you beat your chest over UCF having a good game against Auburn last year, but gloss over the game against Memphis where their defense allowed 750 yards.

Time will tell whether Frost's style of ball will work in the Big Ten, but until then, it might be best not to write checks he might not be able to cash.

Still nothing about Frost hiding in the closet?
And they are banking their future on what he accomplished at another school? Got it.

Prove it. Mike Riley “out recruited” Kirk and IOWA still slapped him around on the field.

Frost’s D’s have looked softer than a cake donut in every game I’ve watched.

Again, Prove it.

This. Maryland hung 10 on his defense last year and they're one of the worst teams in the Big 10.

So you responded by telling me what happened awhile ago. Why is it Iowa's fault they beat you with a bad coach? They can't say "oh, sorry you have a bad coach. We will forego our game this year." Like it or not, those seasons with a bad coach do exist in the record books. FYI, we didn't have great teams when you went 3-1. We got beat. See what that was? Did you see it? It wasn't an excuse. We lost to a better team those years. You all should try humility some time.
