Averaging 23 for the year, 27 the last 6 games.
And this when teams are gaming for him.

This game was the most obvious that he is just in a zone right now and it doesn't matter what the opposition does to stop him.Averaging 23 for the year, 27 the last 6 games.

As great as Luka was, I'm thinking that Keegan might be even better. Overall, at least (including defense).
I'll take him coming back to play along side his brother for one more year. That could take Iowa to heights that Iowa hasn't been since 1970, 1979, or 1986.needs to come back for at least 2 more seasons
Absolutely. Wasn't there a mention earlier that Keegan was, like his twin, left handed originally? He sure plays like it.He made himself more 💰 tonight.
His left hand is what sets him apart. He is as good left as right, amazing.
He clearly realizes he can get whatever he wants and his teammates understand it as well.
Two things have stood out for me since he started lighting it up early in the season:Averaging 23 for the year, 27 the last 6 games.

I remember watching their videos from IMG after Fran signed them and thinking, well these guys seem to both be pretty solid shooters with decent athleticism. But now it’s obvious it just looks so effortless that their athleticism doesn’t really jump off the screen. Everything they do just looks soooo easy! And yes, that flex was awesome, most emotion you’ll get out of him. Which is such a breath of fresh air after all the antics we’re used to seeing from star players, and really most players now. Love his workmanlike attitude. Two things have stood out for me since he started lighting it up early in the season:
Also, tip of the cap to him for the Garza flex at Garza after getting the and-one in the 2nd half, that was tremendous.
- He’s just smoother and more athletic than almost anyone else. He’s almost always in the right spot, he’ll beat his guy on D and he doesn’t even look like he’s trying hard.
- He’s one of the most even-keel players I’ve ever seen. He barely celebrates anything and rarely smiles. To look at his body language, you don’t know if he’s just scored 8 straight points or missed his last 6 shots.
Loved the flex also, as it reminded me of Luka as well. Just for reference, (as papa Murray has pointed out here a couple of times), the twins prepped at DME not IMG.I remember watching their videos from IMG after Fran signed them and thinking, well these guys seem to both be pretty solid shooters with decent athleticism. Yea, Murray is better. He’s most likely a lottery pickAs great as Luka was, I'm thinking that Keegan might be even better. Overall, at least (including defense).
Gotta love Izzo speak especially after a loss. Yes, Keegan is special, BUT this is the same guy who was railing Iowa for showing Lick the door.....
I may be wrong but I thought their old man was a lefty who shot right handed.Absolutely. Wasn't there a mention earlier that Keegan was, like his twin, left handed originally? He sure plays like it.
I think all 3 are left handed but only Kris plays as a dominant left handed player.I may be wrong but I thought their old man was a lefty who shot right handed.
All of the men in the Murray household are left handed (even our adopted son Demetrius Harper)I think all 3 are left handed but only Kris plays as a dominant left handed player.
So was his baseline left handed shot through three guys, and his right handed turn around bank shot. His baseline turnaround fade-away jump shot is NBA already.

Hell yes. He learned a lot from the big fella and the fact he's giving those lessons to his teammates is nothing but good for Iowa hoops. And the nod to Luka ...

Iowa was in the 1980 Final Four.I know I've been critical of our coaching staff and I also know that this is contrary to what everyone is saying about Keegan leaving Iowa after this year, I have this to say.
If you could treat Keegan as a known commodity, a 5 star one and done player that is looking to come to Iowa to play for one year. Hypothetically, how would that be viewed by the Iowa fans and by college basketball in particularly?
Would Iowa be viewed as a top 5 team or better going into next season and more importantly has Fran ever recruited a 5 star one and done player in his coaching career?
Being able to play one more season with his brother and experiencing the level of excitement that would surround this Iowa program would be off the charts.
The money will always be there, and maybe his, and his bothers stock would rise with Iowa becoming a player for a chance to take Iowa to the final four that hasn't happened since the mid 50's. Just putting this out there.

I hear you, just throwing it out there. On the flip side, if Keegan declares for the NBA draft, who is going to take his roster spot? Does Fran go to the portal and find a player that is as impactful as Keegan, is there a senior in high school that hasn't signed yet that is worthy of a Fran scholarship or does he give the scholarship to either Luc Laketa, or Carter Kingsbury. Neither scenario's are going to make Iowa a better team then they are now. I guess we all have to wait and see how it all plays out.In reading Kenyon's posts about his son I get the impression that Keegan's decision is not about money but it's pursuing his dream which is to play in the NBA. If that's the case then it probably will not even matter if he's a lottery pick or not, he just wants to be among the top 240 players that's playing regular minutes in the NBA.
What Keegan wants is what's important here, not what us as fans want. Yes we would all love to see Keegan back at Iowa for another season. I think the only way that's possible is IF Keegan's dream is also to win a championship at Iowa, any kind of championship (even Big Ten). Let's be honest, I think Iowa needs more than just Keegan returning to be a serious contender for the NC. Even if that is Keegan's dream it's probably not realistic and my guess is he's smart enough to recognize that.
I'll be happy for Keegan if he declares for the draft and ends up being a 1st round pick. Iowa hasn't had a 1st round pick since Ricky Davis and hasn't had a solid contributor in the NBA since Reggie Evans. It will be nice for the Iowa program for Keegan to make it in the NBA and I'd bet Kris won't be far behind.
I believe he like Kenyon are left handed but played right hand dominate. He made himself more 💰 tonight.
