No fade for Keegan

I hear you, just throwing it out there. On the flip side, if Keegan declares for the NBA draft, who is going to take his roster spot? Does Fran go to the portal and find a player that is as impactful as Keegan, is there a senior in high school that hasn't signed yet that is worthy of a Fran scholarship or does he give the scholarship to either Luc Laketa, or Carter Kingsbury. Neither scenario's are going to make Iowa a better team then they are now. I guess we all have to wait and see how it all plays out.

All of that is possible, he could also land another high school recruit.

I believe he like Kenyon are left handed but played right hand dominate.
Yes, and I can't think of many players, seriously, in the last 30 years who use their "off hand" as well.
His lefty bank shots almost always hit the middle of the square. Amazing.

I played same. Jump shots primarily right handed but in the paint and at rim preferred left hand.

But I can. Or could knock down 3s with either hand. I've hung up the sneakers recovering from Achilles surgery

You take a grad transfer and hope he can contribute. Then you start hitting the recruiting trail for the following year. At least imwo

I was natural born ambidextrous. Freaked out kids when I was little. My little bro has a strong natural ambidexterity as well. We did sports swinging, throwing and shooting right-handed. The fun started when we began playing bar darts. Play every game until the last as lefties. Well, freaking out the teachers by writing with both hands was fun in grade school.

Keegan looks like a natual right hander, like Larry Bird. What a huge advantage I think that must provide. Bird even swings the driver left-handed. Keegan kid is playing lights out and burning people leftie has got to make him smile a little and increase the value to an NBA team. A lot of guys have made a lot of money in the NBA without a strong left hand. Having that strong leftie move just looks like money.

Although the chance of injury is small and the NBA money is real it would be awfully hard to not take the first round NBA money. Do what you love, for millions of dollars? Not many people would say no to that situation. Keegan will have plenty of advisors that know him and basketball for help in the decision.

It's a significant recruiting asset if Ke Murray is a first rounder. So, there's an Iowa upside no matter what Keegan does.

I think Kris just moves into the starting lineup, Payton is the planned sixth man and we hit the portal looking hard for a versatile forward beyond that in the front court. Since we're losing at least four players (Ke Murray, Ash, Connor and Jordan) and have only two recruits we could use a really good shooting guard as well-maybe even a higher priority, although Kris, Patrick and Payton may prove to be good three point shooters we could use the shooting.

Filip said he was coming here for 2 years. He's improved significantly over the season and I think will be a significantly better player next season. My God he took a physical beating in the last two games.

Why a “grad” transfer? Take the best transfer from the portal you can get, grad or not.
Sure if you're sure it's worth it. A grad transfer for a year is much better than doing nothing with a scholly. Giving a frosh transfer and it's tied up for 3 years. Good or bad. You also might need to fill a position for just 1 or 2 years

A grad student is also probably more mature and serious than a younger player. A grad transfer has graduated, played multiple years of college ball and worked out somewhere. For example, next year we really need a shooting guard because we just cannot count on Dix being playable.

We need someone to shoot FTs underhanded, like Rick Berry and George Johnson.

Ash seems like the obvious choice. Jordan could do it, just to show he can.
