Odds Of A New Years Six Bowl At 9-3, Top 12?

It does matter. Most bowls don't sell out. They are primarily revenue campaigns for travel and entertainment. Thirty thousand Iowans seeking to avoid the cold fills a lot of hotel rooms and buys tons of booze, food and souvenirs.
Off topic but I have always been surprised that Vegas has not opted to join in the bowl frenzy at a higher level. Yes, they have a small bowl game but why not try to join the New Years 6. Maybe they will once the Raiders' new stadium is complete and they actually have a real facility. Then you can drop more cash on your bowl excursion at the Casino Bowl played on Steve Wynn Field sponsored by MGM and The Bunny Ranch.

Or...the NCAA will say ney to increasing their relationship with Vegas...

What IF Iowa wins out, Wisconsin loses out (Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota) andNW loses two (I can dream) IOWA goes to B1G championship game. Iowa can still play on NYD

NU only needs to lose once. We would win the three way tie

We win out.
Wiscy wins out after losing to us
OSU beats MSU, then loses to UM and Wiscy
PSU wins out
MSU loses to OSU
MIchigan loses to Wisc, then beats OSU

Wisc 12-1
PSU 10-2
MSU 9-3
OSU 9-4
Mich 9-3
Iowa 9-3
NU 9-3

Not sure how that would sort out. There’s no limit to the number of teams from a conference in NY6. Just whoever is ranked in Top 11 of Power 5 teams. Actually, you don’t have to be in top 12 if your champ gets stolen by the semifinals and your contract bowl can’t have them. Not sure they applies this year, since Rose hosts a semi. Pretty sure Sugar has had a non-top 12 SEC runner up because Bama was inCFP

The most important game is our next game Our focus
must be on beating Wisconsin on the road. Right now
that is the only game that counts in determining our
Bowl destiny. May Nate "The Great" take us to the
promised land on New Year's Day.

Our focus? Plz tell me how we, as fans, looking past games will in any way impact this weekends performance?

We have a small chance of making the playoff still. In a scenario where Wisconsin loses out, Northwestern loses one or more, and Iowa wins out, and other dominoes fall - Iowa potentially could jump some 2 loss teams based on our strength of record, which will probably be #1 in the country if we win tomorrow, and potentially a conference championship. The end 3 games of the season are ridiculously backloaded with big time games or traps for the more highly ranked bretheren:

1 Georgia, 3 Notre Dame, 5 Oklahoma, 6 TCU, 7 Miami, and 10 Auburn all face other top 10 teams this weekend.

2 Alabama, (obviously 8 Wisconsin), 12 Michigan St, 13 Ohio St, 15 Oklahoma St, 16 Mississippi St all face top 25 competition

Finally, even some of the ranked vs unranked games are tough - 9 Washington faces 6-3 Stanford, 19 Washington State faces 5-4 Utah, 17 Virginia Tech faces the option and Georgia Tech. We're probably overestimating the safety of USC and Clemson this weekend too.

If you look further ahead, there are a bunch of big games for teams like Georgia, who faces Georgia Tech, Notre Dame faces traps like Stanford and Navy to end the year, and every CFP contender will go through a championship game this year. So this is not close to settled, at all.

So sit back and watch the carnage with me :)

I agree on Las Vegas being a bigger player in the bowl schedule. Eventually they probably will.

Thinking a 9-3 Iowa would compare well to OSU and Wisky teams we defeated and possibly even PSU. Depends on the final CFP rankings and as others here have said there is a lot of football carnage ahead before we know.

I just hope we get to 9-3 so we can find out! Go Hawks!
