I guess I'm glad I didn't skip work for this one. A complete and utter embarrassment on national television. Really really disappointed in our team, they didn't even show up. I don't know about anyone else, but this definitely spoiled the 12 win season for me. All that work and perseverance, and we come up empty handed. No Big Ten title, no Rose Bowl trophy; only broken dreams.
I'm still very proud of what this team accomplished this year though. It was an unprecedented comeback from the dreadful previous year. I hate to say it, but perhaps this loss was a good thing. Maybe this can finally be a wake up call to the coaching staff that our playbooks are just too outdated. We need to change things. Our stoic way of playing almost cost us games during the regular season, and now it cost us everything in the post season. But obviously it wasn't just the plays, it was also the players. We didn't show up first of all. Second, Stanford clearly outclasses us, as much as I despise to admit it. We just don't have the talent they do.
So now we have to drudge through the coming months full of articles, news segments, and so on about being "exposed" and "overrated" and so on.
But with that, this will be my last post until at least the spring game. Time to just look forward to next season and pray for a better outcome. Until then, I'll see you all later.
Bye bye everybody!
