****Offficial Granddaddy of them all Iowa vs. Stanford Rosebowl game thread****

You guys complaining about that last td cannot be serious right? You're all being sarcastic correct?

I'm afraid they are. I for one think it would have been nice for them to let us run a long touchdown at the end like Nebraska did in the spring game for the kid with cancer.

Glad Stanford backed off...could have been 80-0...let's just be honest...no contest in talent or experience or prep...hideous showing...a full month to prepare for a puke pile...

Don't blame Stanford for having fun and enjoying it. I remember Hayden keeping Long in the game against Northwestern when we were ahead by 45 so he could get six TDs when he was up for the Heisman.

Backed off? They were still going heavy to McCaffrey and throwing bombs late in the 4th.

Thats bs, they did lose two games. We came out flat footed and got smacked. You really think ole Miss is better than Bama, Texas over Oklahoma, Northwestern beat Stanford.
Really? Logic is not your strong suit. Second half was much more indicative of how the teams match up.

I guess I'm glad I didn't skip work for this one. A complete and utter embarrassment on national television. Really really disappointed in our team, they didn't even show up. I don't know about anyone else, but this definitely spoiled the 12 win season for me. All that work and perseverance, and we come up empty handed. No Big Ten title, no Rose Bowl trophy; only broken dreams.

I'm still very proud of what this team accomplished this year though. It was an unprecedented comeback from the dreadful previous year. I hate to say it, but perhaps this loss was a good thing. Maybe this can finally be a wake up call to the coaching staff that our playbooks are just too outdated. We need to change things. Our stoic way of playing almost cost us games during the regular season, and now it cost us everything in the post season. But obviously it wasn't just the plays, it was also the players. We didn't show up first of all. Second, Stanford clearly outclasses us, as much as I despise to admit it. We just don't have the talent they do.

So now we have to drudge through the coming months full of articles, news segments, and so on about being "exposed" and "overrated" and so on.

But with that, this will be my last post until at least the spring game. Time to just look forward to next season and pray for a better outcome. Until then, I'll see you all later.

Bye bye everybody!

Yah going 12-0 just to lose two in a row does spoil the 12 wins.
Proud of those young men but that coaching staff needs to be taken out back and slapped around.
I also feel bad for the people who paid allot of cash going there. Hopefully they did other fun things while there.
