Michigan really has played well enough to make the CWS and you give UCLA new life.

Top of 9th, 2 outs, tied 3-3. UCLA has a guy on 2nd base.
A routine fly to left field? SHOULD HAVE BEEN the 3rd out. Instead, the Michigan Left Fielder drops it, allowing the UCLA runner to score & UCLA takes a 4-3 lead.
It should have been 3-3 with Michigan coming up to bat in the bottom of the 9th.
Instead, UCLA takes the lead, 4-3, and Michigan has to score 1 to tie instead of 1 to win & advance to the College World Series for the first time since 1984.

It's not on campus. It's across the interstate and the neighborhood wasn't always the best.
It's located on the Vetrans Medical Campus. Very small, borderline cramped. Over the last few seasons they have spent some money to upgrade the facility. It's California and the team has been one of the best in the nation, but overall it pales in comparison to just about every other program in The PAC-12--and even several in the Big Ten.

Michigan was down to its final strike against Illinois in the losers’ bracket of the Big Ten tournament. A loss would likely have meant the end of the season. Instead, it was a semi-miraculous walk-off victory that led to two more wins which was just enough to sneak into the NCAA tournament as one of the last four in.
The Wolverines went 3-1 at UCLA this season. The Bruins didn’t lose a weekend series all season. Michigan was the only team all year to even compete with them.
Florida State was also one of the last four in and is unbeaten in the tournament after dominating Georgia and winning two games at LSU.

Well, they are both heading to the CWS.
My daughter (no pics) is a 2018 Michigan grad and currently works in Santa Monica for a start-up. Her condo is in Westwood about 1.5 miles from Jackie Robinson Stadium. She and her boyfriend (another UM grad) were at the game last night. Said the atmosphere was electric.
