***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

at this point with injuries, she appears to be a long lost relative of Tony Moeaki.

I think we can subscribe to the sentiment of the comment posted to this article:

Ori Arbely posted

“ At this stage we have to ask, is Caitlin Clark already the GOAT for boosting up ratings? Obviously, the ratings for her last tourney run were insane and seems like the ratings for the W are just as crazy. Not having a game reach million+ for over 15 years and then just casually reach that mark whenever Clark is involved this year is wild. I don’t remember a single athlete having that much impact”.

While I agree she is important to the team, I don't think anyone is advocating cutting her. Rather, I think the idea is to trade her for someone who better complements Caitlin. Whether that person exists or whether the trade would actually upgrade team are another story.
After seeing pretty much every team this year I'm not sure there's a trade like that available. Mitchell can score. They are better in transition and it helps CC's game to have someone like her. Clearly if you could find someone better that's great but after seeing pretty much every team I don't think you're going to find that. The Fever's weakness's are in the Forward court at both positions.

She is a really good player, but at this point with injuries, she appears to be a long lost relative of Tony Moeaki.
Temi is a good 12-15 minutes a game player. Can give Boston a break at the 5 and runs the floor well and can play a little power forward as well.

Yeah, I agree. The need another big that can defend, and then a 3 that can knock down open 3s. I would love to see them pick up a horse at the center position so Boston could move to the 4 like Karl Malone. The 3 doesn't need to be a freaky athlete, just a great shooter. Could almost be like a Kyle Corver or Robert Horry, in terms of playing style.

I think she can get most of the minutes at the 4, if she can stay healthy. She was playing a lot better than Smith before she got hit with the injury bug.

Look at the available free agents for 2025, Griner and Ogwumike would be interesting additions...

Watching Griner she is clearly heading the wrong way. The time away from the game and just age seems to have done a bit of a number on her. She's painfully slow right now and I don't see that getting better. In my opinion Boston is best suited to be a Center. Runs the floor well and has nice soft hands. Has pretty limited range as a scorer. Obviously Ogwumike would be a top 2-3 get for any team. Just not sure how that works in the W. She would instantly make them a top 4-5 team moving forward.

She is getting older but she still is averaging 18 and 6, with almost 2 blocks per game. Who knows though, maybe she retires when Taurasi eventually retires.

I'm seeing a few posts suggesting the Fever should blow up their roster and get rid of Mitchell. I think that is crazy. Mitchell is a dynamite player. She's lightning fast and a good shooter, a pure scorer. The Fever would be 5-20 without her.
You know you get to replace her with someone talented too. Mitchell is far from irreplaceable.

I believe his overarching point is, it’s not an easy swap. This is not the NBA they don’t have wholesale free agency and wholesale trades like they do there. People are talking about blowing up the team and honestly that’s not possible.

Watching the liberty versus the suns & Ionescu is torching them 17 points in the first half however she does only have three assist with four turnovers and Carrington. Yes she’s trying to stay on top of her but it’s strange she isn’t playing with nearly the intensity she does with CC, again what a weird ass vibe, this girl has brought out from these players.

Agree, it's astonishing the amount resentment they have for cc

Smith should be a 3 & D, but she’s not. That’s a true NBA position but there’s not a lot of true 3 and D women in the W. Very hard to find.

Nope…although I really like the upside of this Leonie Fiebich for the Liberty, drafted in 2020 just started playing this year, she’s from overseas, 6-4 terrific defennder, needs to be more consistent but she’s skilled.

In fact, while watching the liberty game like I’m some sort of scout, I’ve been scouting the top 20 European women’s basketball players lol

What would you do with Wheeler? Keep her as a backup at point? She's not that good.
Wheeler is an interesting study, she was pumped when they drafted CC, I do think she’s been a very positive influence when she didn’t have to be and has some athleticism and can play some D. With that said, she can get sloppy with extended minutes, so honestly, I’m not really sure…

But she wouldn’t be locked into a roster spot for sure, but I’m not sure she is top priority either. Keep in mind she’s 33, so she may move on her own.

Ad littlez has said, defense and a consistent power forward presence is top of the list.

Aces losing by 14 with 3 minutes left 1sr qtr, already 6 TOs, and I’m gonna tell you something that might be a little unpopular, but Kelsey Plum is not that fantastic a player. She’s just “OK” she is not the level of player that Sabrina or CC either one is.

The liberty are far and away the deepest most talented team.

Satou Sabally would be interesting at the 4. All star in 21 but hasn't played this year because of injury & missed time in 22 as well. Dallas might be looking to shed salary as the season progresses.

Kate goes out with an ankle injury in the 1st quarter. Looked like she rolled it pretty bad--bummer,

I see Stewart didn't play tonight. (hamstring).

*Nice attribute to Boston is her durability so far this season. Don't think she's missed a game.

*Plum is very good. She has parts of games where she disappears, much like Clark, but the next thing you know she's dropped 25 in the second half.

I hopped over to Basketball Reference earlier in the day and saw that her numbers from last year looked fairly good, except for her 3pt%. Maybe she's not doing well adjusting to not being in the starting lineup. She has only started 2 games this year. Well, guess we'll see what happens next.
