***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

From Saturday's game.

Note that Yankees players were star struck. Think about that for a sec.

Connor better watch his 6. Not impugning Caitlin's integrity, but I imagine Caitlin's athletic prowess and excellence is quite attractive to some of these athletes she's hanging with, and they might try to worm their way into her heart...

I see Connor was there getting his baseball jones on as well. Or maybe he was just keeping an eye on CC around all that Millionaire beef cake.... lolol..

Hah I just had the same thought I posted.

On a side note, Judge is married & huge (that's what she said!)

Well Connor can easily prevent this by slipping Caitlin some heartworm medicine 🤷‍♂️

Still not sure why BG didn't play more yesterday. She seemed like a sure bucket when she touched the ball. I know the announcer mentioned at one point you could get her away from the basket on defense and then drive back against her. But having Reeve notice that seems to give her too much credit.
Totally agree. While not super mobil anymore at 6-9 she still has a sweet shot and is unstoppable 6-8 feet on in. Just didn’t understand the roster or the rotations for the most part. At least they pulled out a win.

Did anyone else on that chart notice:
Attendance up 260% vs beer up 740%???????
We’ve all seen the crowds with hordes of 8-14 year old girls.
Are dads being forced to go with and double fisting tall boys?
That did jump at me but I think the dads are going happily and that dads drink a lot of beer!

I suppose time will tell, but I think Nike got a massive steal paying her $28M over 8 years.
And one of the shoe companies backed out at the thought of paying her like 6-8 million. Short sighted these companies are. Don't be surprised if Excel mgmt gets that Nike deal reworked for her before 2032..

So I put my green visor on and crunched a few numbers for ya'll.

Caitlin is averaging 8.2 assists per game for the season. But of course she is trending much higher than that. Over the last 9 games she is averaging 11.9 per game.

It would be a herculean task, but if she averaged 13.29 assists over the remaining 14 games she would average 10 assists per game for the season. Otoh, Caitlin needs to average only 7.4 assists to beat Alyssa Thomas' season assist record of 316. Caitlin is currently at 214.

This last third of the season should be a ton of fun!

Somewhere in this thread it’s been posted that barring disaster, Caitlin should breeze past Thomas’ single season record this year, and starting next season, should routinely be hovering in the range of 400 per each year. And given those productivity expectations, again assuming she remains healthy, Caitlin could conceivably break Sue Bird’s career assists record in as few as 8 seasons (and realistically, no more than 9), a record that it took Bird 19 seasons to achieve.

In fairness to Sue Bird for the vast, vast majority of her career WNBA seasons were only 34 games. Over her 19 seasons she averaged 30.5 games per (in her 21 years with Seattle she missed 2 years due to knee surgery).

So Bird had a heck of a long career, in fact she holds the WNBA record for games played at 580 (Taurasi is in 2nd place at 550 currently). Soooo let's say Caitlin averages 36 games a year to allow for some nicks and dings. Then she'd need about 16 seasons to get to 580 games. Just at her current rate of 8.2 apg she'd get to 4756 career assists (vs 3234).

Just another way of saying if C² remains relatively healthy, she'll smash Bird's record. Incidentally, same applies for Bird's points and rebounds totals too.

These individuals trying to make a case for Angel are incredibly stupid. As you can see below, Sabreena Merchant argues that Angel has been more impactful for team success, which is a crock of sheet.

David is a beat writer for 24/7. What got cut off in his tweet below: No player in the league is being guarded like CC. And she generates more points than any player in the league.
