***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

Sorry to bring race into this, but everything is racist. Alyssa Thomas calling out the Fever fans for racist attacks without evidence, WNBAPA calling out the most objective reporter of the WNBA for racism. I'm done, I'll never watch another game and I am the biggest CC22 Homer here. It's a garbage league with woke garbage players. **** em all, I'm done.

Furthermore, if I were CC22, I'd seriously consider becoming a LPGA golfer.
I believe she's working on that LPGA thing. Love to see it too. I know that basketball is what she loves most, but will things change in the WNBA by next season? I wouldn't bet on it.

I still say that ever since covid shut downs in March, 2020 and the George Floyd death (followed by riots) in May, 2020, the world has gone to shit.

And you are right; everything is about race now.

The only good thing for CC is that she will continue to make her millions. She has an 8 year deal with Nike that pays her $3.5 MILLION/year. Wilson, Gatorade, State Farm, Gainbridge, Panini Trading Cards, Hy-Vee, etc are also paying her well.

SI has a story about toxic Iowa fans.

F them to.

The WNBA is correct to call out racism and abuse online.
However, they need to be careful to not call everything racism for criticism against a player.
Complaining about daggers on fingers is not racism, only pointing out stupidity.
Complaining about trying to imitate the thuggery from Bill Lambier and the Pistons is asking for safer/better basketball.
A reporter asking about a dangerous play that resulted in a black eye is not racism. Following up the question to clarify mocking behavior shown on national TV is good journalism, not racism.

One thing seems to be clear to me. The WNBA and its players are agenda driven. If they keep it up, even Caitlin won't be able to save them. Just stay focused on what you do. And don't go chasing down every rabbit hole created (real or imagined) by some social media troll or obnoxious jerk. There are many examples in the corporate world of companies straying from what they do, to their detriment.

Carrington has lost all plausible deniability. How in the hell do you give someone a black eye and not even know it?

Thankfully, that was one the last blows and muggings Caitlin had to endure in a season chock-full of 'em. If ANYONE was targeted it was obviously Caitlin.

But here comes Angel strolling along complaining about her lot. About how hard it was for her as a "BLACK woman in sports." LOL. FFS! You play in the WNBA! Look at its mission statement, look at YOUR actions. You and your co-conspirators applauded when Lil Whitey was assaulted.

And now the Players Association has joined in with her pitty-thon. Unreal. This is not a serious league. They are in no way ready for nor deserve the big stage that accidentally came their way.

The Caitlin Clark Show deserves a better venue.

And you'd certainly think local endorsements will come in shortly....

Meg and Kate DNP today in a loss. Hard to understand how Meg didn’t play after being in the starting lineup lately. Stokes got the start and did nothing, like usual.

I see that the Aces, in the 10 point loss, only played 8 players (but 35 year old 5'8 guard Sydney Colson logged only 4 minutes).

31 year old 6'3 center Kiah Stokes played 13 minutes and had 1 shot attempt (missed a 3) and 0 FT attempts. Her stat line: 1 turnover, 1 foul, 0 points, 1 defensive rebound, 0 assists, 0 steals and 0 blocks.

If Meg doesn’t get significantly more minutes than Stokes, Hammon is asking to lose and she will deserve it.

Stewart 6'4", Fiebich 6'4", Jones 6'6". Aces play nearly 3/4 of game with Stewart and four guards, none over 6'0". Becky Hammon told her plyers to quit switching on picks because of it created mismatches. WTF? How about putting some size on the court?

I love Aliyah Boston but on tonight's 60 Minutes segment, she said she wanted another comma in her salary. This season Aliyah's ONE COMMA salary was $75,792.

A TWO COMMA, million dollar plus salary for a WNBA player? Good luck with that.

LOL

There is one possible path to that happening, and the league and many of the players seem hellbent on seeing that doesn’t happen.

The league total salary cap was ~$20 mil on $60 mil tv deal.
With a new deal of ~$250 mil per year, 1/3 is about $80 million divided by 16 teams would be $5 mil per team.
If you give 2 players 1 mil each and. $3 mil divided by 10 you are still major improvements.
Minimum Salary goes to $150k for 6 players. Last 4 ~mid players would average ~$500k each vs $240k max today.
The top players SHOULD get a million each with the new deal.
