Looser...So, I took today off before the wife and I leave town for the weekend. I care enough to look at this thread, but I'm watching episode 7 of season 6 of GoT instead of the Cubs game.
Cant even hit a sac fly....
What did Schwarber do with the bases loaded and only one out?

That’s better.I mean, he didn't care enough or try hard.
In fairness Schwarber couldn't hit a sac fly cause Rizzo was on third...I mean, he didn't care enough or try hard.
Molina caught one straight in the testis

Ryan did his job.Hoo boy....into the pen in the 5th. Nice outing from Mills, though.
Chatwood has such a live arm that if he ever got in fully under control he could be quite productive.I'd love to see a strong competition for the 5th rotation spot between Alzolay, Mills, Chatwood and any of the other young arms that are getting close. There will be rotation spots to fill in the next couple years, and Lester is likely to spend some time on the shelf next year.
Solid south of I-44 spelling there.Looser...
Mills has had several good outings. He is pushing to show that he will either be a part of the Cubs next season, or that he can be of value to some other team. This was a nice start from him today.not at all, mills will be lucky to get through 2 innings.
Maybe we should have put a little more emphasis on a lead-off hitter, closer and bullpen over the last few years...
...turns out they’re a pretty big deal.
If you think this team is extremely talented and greatly underachieving, you are likely a Theo Epstein sycophant who believes that because he assembled this team, then they must be great on paper.
The fact of the matter is that Fangraphs pegged this team for 86 wins in the preseason, and PECOTA from Baseball Prospectus had them in the high 70's.
They did not put truly talented teams such as Houston, NYY, LAD, etc. in such territory.
Theo is the guy you want to take your company public with a wildly successful IPO, and then quickly replace him because he has shown in Boston and now Chicago that he cannot maintain a winner.
What’s the record for most pitchers used in the second game of a critical four game series? Asking for a friend.
