*****Official Cubs 2019 thread*****

He's throwing a temper tantrum with himself on the mound. I think spending a month with the Eugene Emeralds would help him get his head right.

Nice inning there for the Cubs. Darvish is struggling. Hopefully he can get through the 5th with no more runs given up.

Joe Buck is cringeworthy bad

What was your favorite?:

-Buck stating two times that STL had regained the lead after Rizzo threw home for a bases loaded force out.

-Or him yelling "THERE IT IS!" on Javy's F8 that he clearly missed, and didn't even make the warning track.

Cubs win!!

Okay, I think I’ve been forgiven. My wife even wanted to watch the Cubs game. Though she wondered what the heck was my problem with Pedro Strop’s cap. She said it made him look cute in a quirky kind of way.

Did you tell her Anna always talked about watching baseball?

That motherf***er made more in this s*** start today than I've made in a 19-year career as a high school science teacher. I'm pretty sure I hate him more than I hated Todd Hundley.
And, he only lasted half a game. If he got paid per 9 innings you'd have had to teach for 38 years. :)

It's still not as much as I hate Candy Maldonado.

I just rewatched Davis' slam. I just noticed that the fan who caught it threw it back on the field. Must have been a Cardinals fan.

Matt Spiegel meekly offered up this morning that maybe Darvish had checked out of the game in the 5th when Joe had a pinch hitter up for him.
I guess you have to go with whatever you can to explain his fragility. I thought with two full days off for the bullpen Joe would yank him anyway. Or, pull him after the first walk. Even on the radio you could tell from Coomer that he was just useless his final inning.
