Stroman started out pretty slowly like this last year getting hit around pretty good the first couple months, and then bounced back and has been pretty damn good since. We gotta hope the same happens for Jamo or like you said this contract is going to look UGLY, and it's going to cost us quite a few wins this year which this team can't afford.4 years, $68,000,000.....
Not exactly the Heyward disaster, but will hamstring the organization for a while.
3+ seasons.
Yes. Let’s allow this season to breath a little before tossing the bottle.too early to start the 2024 season thread?

Nobody here gives a **** about the YankeesSellers at the trade deadline.
And to answer everyone's question on Jameson...he's garbage as the NYY discovered last year.
There wasn't one tear shed when he left NY.

It’s not just as bad, and Bellinger will tired a decent return….Discussing Cubs here.
Keep up.
BTW...this acquiring players off the scrap heap that the Ricketts are doing is a veiled attempt to give Chicago fans hope for the future.
This Taillon contract will end up just as bad, if not worse, than Jason Hayward, imo.
Impressive
To me, Stroman will have more deadline value than Bellinger. It’s not just as bad, and Bellinger will tired a decent return….
Not even close….the Taillon contract, even if it goes to complete shit is 4 years, $68M. That’s not going to prevent them from doing anything. $17M in 2026 is nowhere near $23M in 2021. I also think he’ll recover and be a serviceable starter for the bulk of his contract…but if I’m wrong, it’s not catastrophic.Discussing Cubs here.
Keep up.

Cubs are in the middle of a stretch where they play 24 of 28 games against 2022 playoff teams. They played 13 games against 2022 playoff teams before this run. After the series at San Diego, the Cubs only have 31 games against 2022 playoff teams the rest of the way.The road trip sucked, but keep in mind they played a good Twins team, the defending WS champs, and the defending NL champs.
Let’s see what this week brings.
We’ll see how it all plays out. Of course the biggest worry is that they get so knocked around during this tough stretch of schedule that they fall too far out….but this division sucks so far and likely will continue sucking. You guys are tight.
The 2nd half schedule is really weak.
That said, a 500 season seems best case scenario.
Friday, when they pounded Philly 10-1.I haven't even really bothered watching baseball so far this year. All I know is I have my notifications set up for Cubs scores and they are losing every GD day. I can't remember the last push notification I got of a win.
still cannot believe he wasn’t good enough to make the opening day rosterI have to ask, did Morel go on steroids when he was in Des Moines?
He's going to lead the Cubs for sure it looks like.Is Morel going to hit 100 home runs this season?
Not exactly sure what you’re asking, but the crew was Boog, JD and Girardi.Who is in the booth with the broadcast crew?
I got confused with the 7th inning stretch. I thought they'd crossed over and only briefly saw who sang Take Me Out To The Ballgame. Didn't catch the name. Not exactly sure what you’re asking, but the crew was Boog, JD and Girardi.
Broadcast highlight of the night for me was Girardi, inning after inning, pointing out all the ways Sanchez sucks as a catcher.
Ah, it was Bill Murray’s brother (Joel?) doing the 7th inning stretch.I got confused with the 7th inning stretch. I thought they'd crossed over and only briefly saw who sang Take Me Out To The Ballgame. Didn't catch the name.
Sanchez didn't get any help on that pop up behind the plate. Alonso just stood there and watched the ball drop even though he had the better angle on the ball, and was in range if he'd bothered to shuffle his feet a few steps.
