Meghan Montemurro reported that Seiya said after the game that he has the green light on the bases and went on his own. He thought he had Kopech timed (on TV live I thought he had a huge jump, was surprised to see the ball beat him). That and the PCA baserunning gaffe might have cost them a couple runs for sure.
Seiya needed to understand the situation there. Baserunners were more important than stealing 3rd.
BN article about will Bellinger opt out. Scott Boras sure seems to be pitching the idea that Bellinger's slight regression this year is the fault of Wrigley weather. Interesting take.

Thankfully the Phillies and Dodgers do have something to play for. They are separated by 1 game for home field in NL playoffs.

Geez ... bases loaded and no one out. Smyly gets an out and here comes Pearson. He gets to an 0-2 count on the catcher Goodman who is hitting .189 and then he hangs a breaking ball for a grand slam. And that's 2 HRs and 7 RBIs for Goodman.

Wtf. At least we won't have to watch them get swept 1st round of the playoffs.
Wow. Hodge gets first 2 outs in ninth, then walks a batter on 3-2 pitch and then gives up 2 run HR. We are tied going to the 10th.
All these guys will be ready for the Majors in 2025 (Plus Triantos, not to mention Canario and Davis if they’re still able to walk). Jed’s got a lot of work to do this offseason, moving some of these guys for pitching upgrades and flushing the dirt out of the roster.
Let's see what everyone thinks next year's starting lineup will be.
C - Amaya (not sure Jed finds another catcher)
1B - Busch (I don't think they win a bidding war for Alonso)
2B - Triantos ( I think they move Hoerner)
SS - Swanson
3B - I think they go after Alex Bregman. Paredes has not worked out, and I am not sure Shaw is ready to go yet.
LF - Happ
CF - PCA
RF - I hope it's Cody/Seiya again and the other is the DH.
If they do get Pete, then I think they move Busch to 3B and then Bergman is out.
I think they make a big run at Corbin Burnes for SP. They would give them

Looking at the free-agent list, it isn't overly impressive. I like Santander from Baltimore, but I don't see them going for Pete, Corbin, and Santander.
