He murdered that ball. 403 to center, and that ball was more than halfway up the batter's eye.
The ball seems to carry well in Sacramento.
Interesting note that they addressed last night, you will note the natural turf. When the story first broke there was a thread here, and threads on BCB about pretty much everyone saying day games in 100+ heat in the Summer weren't going to fly. My guess is enough pressure was applied by other owners and the unions to get them to rip out the artificial turf and put in grass.

The A's are going to win a lot of games this year (Vegas projects ~77), as are the D-backs and Dodgers.
Game 4 in Phoenix really sucked, but the Cubs have a chance to go 5-4 on the miserable season-opening road trip. That's better than a lot of teams would do. Getting through April will be about keeping their head above water. Fix some bullpen issues and there should be a lot to look forward to this season.

ESPN1000 Chicago was guessing 10-14 years, 40-45m per, this morning. No chance Ricketts goes for that.

This. If they get through April's tough schedule at .500 that's a positive sign for the year. They should have had 3-4 against a good D-Backs team, and they have a chance to sweep a good A's team today before coming home.

10-year, $400M is probably what he’s worth. Ricketts might swallow that if Tuck turns out to be as popular as it seems. But he won’t overpay, which the Yankees or Dodgers might.
It’ll just be a matter of how much he enjoys playing for the Cubs this season and if his ego will accept a $400 million contract when a $450 million one might be available.
I am beginning to wonder if Ricketts has handcuffed Hoyer over long term deals? I can see him wanting to try and scrimp until the strike when this CBA is up.

Some. I've been checking the team sites and looking for official announcements. South Bend had 1 outfielder listed on their roster as of this morning. I assume it's some formalities that have to be addressed, and some late injuries to adjust for.
I did read on BCB that Jefferson Rojas is injured, but is expected to join Knoxville soon. I'm very interested to see how he plays this year.
Am I the only one that thought it would be pretty cool to catch an A's game at that park? What an intimate setting to get to watch MLB baseball. Sit on the burm on the right field line and drink a ton of beers. Great afternoon at the park.
They seemed to do a good job with it. There was a Principle Park / Sloan Park vibe. Not sure how it will be in August when it’s 100+ and the A’s and Rivercats have played on that field every day. During a broadcast they said there are plans in place to swap out the turf at least once, but that’s tough to pull off. I can see some complaints coming in from players later on about tough playing conditions. Day games in 100+ won’t be great for attendance, either.
