*******Official Cubs 2025 Thread*******

I do not trust Pressly. Even Cronenworth was expecting off speed. Sick of these old former Astros the past couple seasons (Neris).
Not just from Houston. Jed has gotten adept at picking up many other teams' junk and expecting good things. Every once in a while it works (Leiter Jr, Merryweather TBD), but most of the time it turns out exactly like you figure it will....

I still think the Neris issues were all about using him as a closer vs. a setup guy as he had been used previously. We’ll see if Pressly works out, but I still like Hodge a lot as the next closer and there are some interesting options after that, though if we get to that point, it’s probably not saying great things about the season.

On the Score post game they were talking about Amaya and Pressly having words. Or, Pressly screaming at Amaya to be more precise.
Pitch calling discrepancy?

Amaya should have been telling him to throw more strikes. I guess it was Amaya's fault that Pressly had such poor control of his stuff and had to rely on a guy standing there like a statue when he threw a ball right in his wheelhouse to get out of yet another jam that he created...

Some. I've been checking the team sites and looking for official announcements. South Bend had 1 outfielder listed on their roster as of this morning. I assume it's some formalities that have to be addressed, and some late injuries to adjust for.
I did read on BCB that Jefferson Rojas is injured, but is expected to join Knoxville soon. I'm very interested to see how he plays this year.

Horton was throwing cheese in his first start of the year.
I'm going to Victory Field for I-Cubs - Indy Indians today (completion of last night's suspended game plus today's game - weather permitting, again). Unfortunately missing Horton, Wicks and Kilian, who all started this week already. Hopefully all our big bats are in there today, and maybe I'll see a reliever or two that will be pitching in Chicago before long.

Wait. Are you suggesting there is a problem with the Cubs relievers?
