Agreed. It wasn't a bad pitch. Well off the plate. That being said he called it a strike on Montero the past inning before calling it a ball on the next pitch.

Trevor V Holiday is scary. 3 hrs in 12 abs and a boot and now Heyward. Life as a Cubs fan.

It's Lackey tomorrow I'd think for St. Louis. I wonder if Lester is in play. If I were the Cubs, I'd still go Hammel...there's no need at all to go Lester.

If you'd have told me the Cards would score 6 runs, 4 of them off Arietta, and still lose, I'd have told you you were high. Rough night. Hopefully the Redbirds bring some pitchers tomorrow night.

Madden is solid on Hammel, which I actually agree with if it's a choice between taking a chance winning another Lester/Lackey battle or Lester/Lynn in St. Louis. I'd rather take a chance on Hammel at home than Hammel or Hendricks in a game 5 in St. Louis.

Joe Maddon has got enough power in his lineup that he
will not need Hammel to pitch a shutout. With Bryant and
Rizzo returning to their home run swing tonight, there will
be partners for Schwarber, Soler, Castro in the offense.

I do not think this series ever gets back to St. Louis. Their
pitching staff is a mess. Cubs will win tomorrow and rest
up for the Mets.
