**** OFFICIAL GAME THREAD ****

In the second half, I'd like to see Iowa run the ball with RBs and never our QB again. I don't know why I think that might work today?

Our defense has some real issues to work out. Teams always pick us apart with the short pass. It's just embarrassing.

Iowa never seems to do well against backup QBs. I remember Curtis Painter coming off the bench years ago at Kinnick and lighting up the secondary for the rest of the game.

Seems like this happens to Iowa quite a bit. Starting QB goes down and the backup comes in and torches us.

Guys, our pass D is really starting to worry me, especially with a trip to Lincoln next week…Not just dogging on the secondary, D line not getting anywhere...

DL wearing down due how many snaps they've played this year. Iowa is not deep on defense.

To me, it was the missed XP. Nothing kills momentum like missing an XP. It really shouldn't ever happen.

I think the wind is part of it today too. Have the wind, both teams passed accurately. Against...both teams sucked.

I missed most of the first half. Did Easley get any touches. I hope that we don't go away from him the rest of the year. He is a home run threat everytime he touches it

As others have said, less worried about the pass D in the secondary as I am the utter lack of pressure on the QB. If you can't get more pressure with 4 down, bring on the raider or blitzes.

I doubt CJ is 100%. Anyway you don't need to risk the Franchise up 13 pts at home.
Agreed. After the off season he will be healthy but to make calls like that in this weather, why risk getting him beat up before next week. If we were down 13, maybe out of necessity.

Some timely blitzes sure..maybe some Raider...those are things you have to do to cover up a poor pash rush with your Front 4. It does seem like the Defense has been off its game for last few weeks. 10 pts given up is not bad, but the trend wasn't good going into half.

I made a post about this months ago to inform all opposing teams to sell out completely on end-around when Parker enters the game, in hopes that a complement will be installed by Iowa to counteract it. heat_dawg was adamant that I was full of shit and that Parker is in the game for many more snaps than just the 1 play package. Still waiting on the fake.
Good thing all those teams literally read your post and took your advice to heart.............................

Who knew that knocking out Blough could be a turning point in this game?
True...i said that before the backup even came in.
The key here is iowa isn't even blitzing. .we're giving the qb all the time in the world. Just like last week. They are gonna come out of the locker room pumped...we need to take the wind out of there sails..

I wasn't actually being serious about that, douchebag. They already know when 10 checks in, it's going around the edge. I was expressing concern over the package because it's high school-esque, Paul Chaneyish bullshit and it still hasn't been remedied.

Can just as well get hurt on a pass play. It was just unlucky.

Would be interesting to have stats either way. I think pocket is safer on per play basis.

Running he can take a big hit from any angle and he doesn't have option to dump ball if he sees someone coming. Beathard doesn't slide. Case in point, the hit Lomax put on Purdue QB.

I don't think qB draw was terrible call, just don't think I'd take extra chances with Beathard sitting 10-0 at home with lead vs lousy team.
