Lot of these videos are reminiscent of video from the SE Asia Tsunami. More disturbing a lot of people were in structures that were collapsing, blowing away and could not avoid it. Really scared we are going to have a very high death toll due to surge and high prolonged catastrophic winds. 90 percent of these islands are 0-10 feet. Highest points often are 30-40.
My wife and I were in Freeport last March for a few days. There were areas that hadn't recovered from a previous storm. I imagine our favorite little restaurant is no more.

I just like the thought exercise of if they had the rough power to steer these systems, what would be the ramifications.
If they tell Trump they can fire up HAARP and create a high pressure in front of the storm to steer it off his resort, but they can't be sure where it will go (or if it will say, stall over the Bahamas for a day) if they try.
Would we be ok with the government trying to mitigate/steer these things? Could the Bahamas sue?

Hell, it took the US 8 months to give aid to people in their own country after Michael. Florida was apparently a shithole place to both parties.
As far as I know, Bahamians aren't swarming our shores trying to get here illegally, so I'm going with not shithole.
