They weren't really guarding anyone outside of 10 feet.
Completely embarrassing for Iowa 12% on 33 almost entirely wide open 3point attempts.

when shots aren’t falling, you have to be able to get stops. We can’t.
You have been saying JoeT has to shoot whenever he's open and he's not a 3pt shooter. . Midrange shot or pull it back and try again for good entry pass or take it to hoop. The fact that the entire team is 4-33 or whatever from 3pt line means they were backing off everyone and doubling/tripling Garza. Fran only had 3 good 3pt shooting guards to start the season and two got injured and JoeW had a bad 3pt shooting game...no outside threats and packed around Garza means loss. This is pretty good recipe for defending Iowa post JBo/Fredrick...just pack it in on Garza and the other guys won't beat you. Team is likely to be 1-4 after Friday.
I wanna like Joe T, but his TOs are horrible and I don't know if it's just me, but he seems to have a bad attitude.
A loss to nebby team this bad will pretty much kill our tourney chances, especially when it looks like we won't see PMac, CJF, Nunge, and Jbo anytime soon. This one REALLY hurts!
I'm glad the refs waited until inside of a minute to start calling every little bit of hand-checking/body-bumping contact that Nebraska makes when we try to drive, like Nebraska wasn't doing anything like that at all earlier in the 2nd half.

Our guys have no mid-range game. They seem scared to shoot inside the 3-pt line. It's 3-pointer, Garza, or bust.
Pemsl in late game is not a good recipe. He single handedly lost two possessions in a row. Just can not be trusted in crunch time. We shouldn’t have been in this position to begin with, but we had an off night and need folks to value the ball.
No. Refs aren’t even in the equation. Literally can’t say anything about the refs even in a sentence that includes “Iowa lost it.” It’s that simple... Iowa lost it. Nothing else. Injuries have killed us, we were completely out coached tonight, and none of our players could make a shot while Nebraska shot better than their average.
Nebraska also hit lots of step back and NBA range 3s because everyone shoots with confidence against our soft-ass defense.
this. Absolutely right. With our normal shooting team and normal shooting night we absolute crush nebtard. Our shooting was so bad they were literally five feet off us giving us any shot we wanted out of the lane.
No one guarded Connor last year either when he was shooting 16% from 3pt line last year. JoeT not being able to shoot effectively from 3 is big hole is his game, but not a killer if you have 2-3 other guys that can shoot the 3. With Fredrick and Jbo hurt, this might be the worst team in B1G if JoeW is not hitting his 3s.
I agree it's a good strategy. However, you can't start trying to force it inside into a double team because you are missing wide open shots. You have to take what's given.
Joe T's defender was sagging off UNDER the free throw line. He had 17-18 footers available. He has to take those. Has to.
My only gripe is why they even bothered to start calling Nebraska for touch fouls late in the game when they opted not to earlier in the 2nd half...........................just sayin, CEDHawk.

If Nebraska is triple teaming and sagging in the lane that much and Iowa can't hit a 3, Iowa should be getting shots from 15 feet. Instead, they just kept jacking up 3s and just kept shooting them. Pemsl even shot 1 three point shot. That's ridiculous.
