*****Official Iowa @ Michigan State Game Thread*****

The worst deep ball throwing QB in college football.
He does have nice touch on the short stuff.
He has to hit that deep ball. Has to. Teams roll up on us and his inability to compete even one single deep ball is handicapping an already marginal offense.

Stanley overthrows another wideopen receiver that would have been a sure touchdown. He's a good QB but reallyyyy needs to get that aspect of his game figured out.

I love everything about him except for these overthrows on deep balls. It's officially a trend now and it's taking points off the board.

So it hasn’t happened yet but will the Stanley deep ball cost us a game this year? How is Weigers downfield?

Our problem is our coach has been doing this his whole career. We play fired up at night inside Kinnick vs good competition, but fail on a average Saturday afternoon vs a conference opponent. It’s been his whole career guys. Lol at thinking we’d be 10-2 based on one game vs PSU.
our problem is no one has to respect our passing game until nate makes some deep passes! until then it doesn't matter what we call...

Two first downs. Well, that's something, at least. Keep throwing the ball!
A deep ball from Stanley is a waste of a down.

Not entirely. Throwing a few of those, even if incomplete, does tend t loosen up the secondary a bit, maybe get some space underneath or, miracle of miracles, actually be able to run the ball for four yards on a given play.
