Unfortunately, past experience has made it clear that public sympathy for Israel will wear off quickly, just as it did for the US after 9-11.

Then they will continue to have to fight every day just to exist.
So this morning in Arlington I go out to walk my dog, and looking to the southeast toward the pentagon what do I see? Two paratroopers trailing smoke. I will confess that for an instant I wondered if they were friendlies. Of course, Veterans Day. Had never seen that here though so kinda cool.
In a scenario like this with a foreign adversary. A group of terrorists going door to door in a community.
It will be interesting to see Republicans twist themselves in knots over the next few days explaining why we should give Israel whatever aid and equipment they want while claiming we can no longer afford to support Ukraine.
What does his sexual orientation have to do with anything?
If a group of terrorists are going door to door in the United States, that means they've gained at the very least a small advantage over the most well funded military in the world. I doubt Jim Bob is going to be much of a threat to them.
A few thoughts:
1. I think it’s ridiculous not to believe that Iran is funding these terrorist groups AND that some of $6 billion given to them won’t be used eventually to continue to fund these people
2. Would anyone really be shocked if the military equipment left in Afghanistan a couple years ago did end up being used against Israel or eventually the US
3. Why couldn’t something on a smaller scale happen in the US? There’s obviously enough people around the world who have a healthy dislike of us. Not to mention, we’ve had a TON of folks cross our southern borders . There’s no way we know who all has entered our country. Also, there is precedent for attacks on American soil
4. The US isn’t in great shape right now. Inflation is sky high and we’ve given very large sums of money to Ukraine we technically don’t have and are borrowing. We basically printed money throughout COVID. Getting into another war will undoubtedly weaken the dollar.
5. We’re looking at potential conflicts in Ukraine (currently by proxy), Taiwan if China ever actually takes action, and the Middle East…..AGAIN when we back Israel as there is little doubt Iran will most likely get involved.

Suddenly everyone knows the minds, and finances, of a terrorist organization so well they're openly hoping for more indiscriminate killing or outright genocide.

The world could really use a musician collaboration with dozens of artists about war to lift the world's spirits.

The Israelis occupied Gaza for many years. It was untenable. Israel appears poised to make a massive incursion into the Gaza Strip. They will go in like a hot knife through butter. Then what? Fight, fight, fight, and fight some more?
Music festival of Peace was where the paragliders landed. At least 250 bodies found, more kidnapped. Lots of German, Norwegian, American and other youth.
Oddly enough relations with their neighbors, and throughout the ME are better than in previous years. Israel and Saudi Arabia are inching towards normalizing relations and for SA to formally recognize Israel. I am very suspicious that the timing of this assault by Hamas is tied to better relations between Israel and it's Arab neighbors, and in particular SA. That would be a big deal. Some people in the region really hate this idea.
I do not fully discount Jared Kushner's work with the Abraham Accords, he just left out the Palestinians. As long as the Palestinians are left out there won't be peace. They won't stand down, and the exploiters and agitators like Iran will have every motivation to provide arms to Hamas and Hezbollah, and to provoke them into action.
Here’s the deal, Saudi Arabia and Israel are more friendly than they have been (certainly traditionally anyways). The Jordanians and Egypt too. That doesn’t mean there aren’t lots of people in those countries who sympathize and celebrated what has happened in Israel the past 48 hours. Not to mention, you literally have entire countries who want nothing more than to kill all Jews, it’s not just about having them leave that region.
As far as Palestine goes, it’s the red headed stepchild of the Arab world. Literally no one wants those people around. Israel at least has opened its doors to people of other faiths where their Muslim brothers won’t. That small strip of land, is being governed by a terrorist organization that uses women and children as shields and shoot rockets from hospitals and schools daring the IDF to shoot back.
Which will never happen so Israel's only option is to fortify their borders and defense systems as much as possible.
I wouldn't be surprised if they reclaim Gaza, sweep the entire region and kill anyone who resists, then send all Gaza non militant citizens to the west Bank. Allowing a terrorist organization to run and occupy that piece of land isn't working for Israel.
No matter what this isn't going to end quickly or peacefully.
