Wrestled smart. Controlled the opponents wrist in the ties. Didn't get thrown, which was what Japan was looking for.Elor will wrestle for gold. Won 3-2.
Not breaking news, but she is damn tough.
this is what elor is best at. the japanese wrestler is a leg attacker. she didn't want to be in those ties, but elor is so strong and dominant that she wasn't able to stay out of them and was forced into awkward headlock attempts to try to score.Wrestled smart. Thanks for the updates and observations! This thread is remarkably well composed for how old it is. I have no doubt it will go to shit and pissing contests by this time next week.

Japanese women are some of the top p4p wrestlers in the world, they are studs and very technically sound.
And she’s apparently only 23
That was an impressive win against Japan. To beat the reigning senior world champion (she is a U17, U20, and U23 champion also) as an 18-year-old is just so impressive. Elor has the potential to wrestle in at least four Olympic cycles as she will only be 32 for the 2036 Olympics (for comparison, Adeline, Helen and Tamyra will be 33, 32 and 31 respectively for the 2024 Olympics). She also potentially has 11 total senior world championships (Non-Olympic years) available to her. This is obviously so far into the future that it is anyone's guess how her career progresses or how long she decides to compete, but the potential to watch her compete for so many more years is great as a wrestling fan.Elor is a ****ing tank!!! Wow, only 18 years old!

elor's style is really something. no leg attacks. all upperbody control ties. physically overwhelms opponents and makes them panic. kind of yazdanicharati-esque.
The US Women are way farther behind Japan than the men are behind Russia, and that’s not a knock on the women.
I'm too lazy.Any brackets out for the men? Starts in 9 hours.
Don’t get ice cream before these matches or you’ll miss them. Both guys with first period dominations.Retherford, Burroughs, and Zillmer with first round wins. Taylor and Retherford on deck now.
He’s made 5 straight finals, let’s make it an even 6! Turkey and Iran are on the other side.Burroughs with the 10-0 tech at end of first period over KGZ.
3 of 4 US men onto semis.
Zillmer needs Georgian to win next match to pull him onto repechage.
Zillmer loses 9-4. Got an exposure and last second TD. Dude’s giving up a ton of size.
Taylor to the finals with an 11-0 tech! The wrestling world deserves more Taylor-Yazdani
