*****Official NCAA round 1 thread*****

Some B1G teams looked bad. The B1G itself is fine.

When you've lost 3 of 6 games in the first round, two of which were a 2 and 4 seed getting upset, that's bad.

I'm hoping the conference turns it around but so far it's been bad.

You don't know what Phi Jamma Slamma was?

Nope. I kind of knew Hakeem was part of it, but I didnt know Drexler was the other guy. I remember them playing together on the Rockets, though. Either the TV networks didn't spend as much air time on the personal stories of the players back then or I just didn't pay attention to that stuff back then.

This WVU-MSU game is like watching a B1G conference game. All kinds of rough contact, seemingly obvious fouls, and no whistles.

Winthrop getting the screw job by the stripes now
Was going to post this very comment. They are getting hosed big time. It all started with that awful flop when they were down 5 or so.

man refs love to call that offensive foul. They need to come up with a less fun signal for offensive fouls. some refs really get off on drawing attention to themselves while calling that.

And now they're - including LLS - going to the monitor for a F1 review.

Now its official. This really is just like a B1G conference game.

Says a lot.

WV star tosses OOB pass off MSU players back, for a layup attempt that was fouled on.

Nice play... except he was pretty much already stepping in-bounds when he let the ball go. And literally right in front of the ref.

Yep, this could totally be a B1G conference game, from an officiating standpoint.

Just checked the schedule for tomorrow, and the USC-Drake game leads right into the Iowa game, time-wise. (depending on when the Iowa game starts, like the game before them runs long, etc)

Noice.

I thought G'town was supposed to cruise past Colorado?? The experts promised me so.

How about that 'could have been' 5-point trip for the Hoyas, due to the F1 and ball back, turned into 0 points with the missed FTs and an offensive foul. Not even 1 point gained from all that. And then, to add insult to injury, gave up a 3 on the ensuing Buffalo possession.

Nearly all of the tournament games have been identical. A team will be down double digits in the first half, get the deficit down to single digits by halftime, and then complete the rally in the 2nd half.

Yea I heard experts snippet and decided that the pac12 must be having a down year. But maybe that's more false premise due to the first half of their seasons having more restrictions for practice/traveling.

Not in this CU-GT game. Colorado is gonna have to go stone cold and GT is gonna have make the sun seem tepid, in the 2nd half, to pull this one off.

To put it another way, Colorado's halftime lead of 24 is > than the total GT points, 23.

Interesting that one bid stealer (Oregon st) blew the doors off Tennessee and the other (G’town) is going to get routed

I wish the USC-Drake game was before the Kansas-EWash one, because I feel like I should root against the Jayhawks no matter what, but maybe the Hawks would rather face KU than USC (if Drake can't pull the upset)?

I know they're coming off that short pause, but KU looks like s* to start their game.

EWU up 9-0 before even the first media timeout.

Kansas’ energy level is really lethargic.

Iowa fans should be more worried about the round of 32 than the sweet 16. There’ll be some nerves from the players trying to break the sweet 16 drought. If they get there, they can relax plus they’ll be playing teams they’re likely still better than.

I broke down and decided to skip some of this tourney for some outdoor time. Here's the hoping I don't miss a Kansas upset.
