You can only go downhill when you've been on top of the hill. Your time will come. All good things come to an end. The difference is, you will no longer follow college wrestling when you're not on top. Iowa fans are real fans. Speaking of downhill, let's discuss the legacy of JoePa!
You are most likely right since most on these boards are already in their 70's!☠️🤣

Cali, i have a request

(first off, thank you for doing the lord's work)

but please use TrackWrestling and actual points scored rather than template placement points.

All right, this one took a bit of work.
Here's a big NCAA tournament data drop. What's included:

Database: The raw data with all of the wrestler info, weights, seeds, results, points, etc from 2007 to present
Info: Explanation of the stat categories, sources, data collection and known issues
Pivot: Sortable data across categories
Team sheets: Currently team sheets for Penn State, Iowa, Ok State, aOSU, Cornell and Minnesota. The first table in each can be changed from the pull down menu for different stats.

Some early observations:
Iowa has the most NCAA points since 2007 at 125 (125 is second highest overall after PSU's 174)
Oklahoma State most at 133
Ohio State most at 141
Penn State most at 157 thru 197
Minnesota most at 285

Iowa has 3 more wins than Penn State (but has 90 more losses).

Iowa has qualified 125 and 165 every year and only has missed once at 6 other weights.
Oklahoma State has qualified 125, 133 and 174 every year
Minnesota has qualified 141 every year

Here's an excerpt for points per weight class (adjusted removes the extra 64 bracket scoring from 2007 to 2012).

So 79 pages in, is there any news on a potential transfer to Iowa.

Chris Cannon off the Michigan roster into the dreaded "unattached" category. Two years left of eligibility should he choose to use them.

Which would have worked perfectly with DeLuca coming in next season.

Make no mistake, you don’t just immediately recover from what Jesuroga did rather last minute. Hell, even PSU suffered at 125 for a while after Suriano jumped ship…
Agreed. A failure of any type or reason at 125 can be long term. PSU hasn't has an AA at 125 since Nico in 2016 and when Nick left. It's not like you can insert an AA replacement into the spot with the snap of the fingers. By far the hardest weight to manage from a coaching perspective. It is a testament to Iowa coaching that they have the best 125 record the last 10-15 years.

Edit to say that PSU hasn't had an AA at 125 since 2016 but has had a national champ at every other weight. Crazy

Have there been problems in the past? I’m not being obtuse. Just killed a lot of brain cells already this week.
In my history of being a Hawkeye wrestling fan, it sure feels like "waiting on admissions" (or an answer on eligibility) has meant "this person will probably never wrestle here, or at least not anytime soon"... Many likely ended up being for the best but off the top of my head...
Bill Murphy
Joey Slatons return
I think Montell got super drawn out?
The garbage with the VT transfers though that wasn't our doing
Downey
Ferraris
The gamblers

I'm surely missing some and admittedly lumping a lot of different situations in with "admissions" but you get my drift.
