Official Portal Watch

Some notable things I see:
Petersen down to 25 probably my biggest surprise
VV down to 41 with Block would be a fun wrestle off to watch, very excited to see Block this season
Cali vs Cobe/Teemer for 57
PK gets in at 65
That lineup is pretty salty. A lot rides on our RS freshman next season.
I don’t see Cali or Teemer sitting so PK can have 165.

Somewhat unrelated but your mention of watching wrestle offs had me wondering. Are there ever going to be wrestle offs open to the public again? I can see a lot of reasons not to, and Covid was the immediate reason to close them down, but I used to love going to watch those.

Our best 10 will have to include Kale Petersen. Folks are underestimating this young man’s level of dedication, determination, and talent.
I would love to see him and a couple of our other fellas make that leap to the next level just like I've been hoping every year for PK to make that leap. If the Teemer/Buch deal is real, I think we can have one NC, five in the top 3, and three more AAs. And perhaps all 10 AA if someone steps up the way Glazier did last year. Long shot but not impossible...

Well Bob started donating around 2017. Since then, a national title and a new facility. So...what is that...16 screen names ago? I lose track.
Poor recruiting, resorting to buying other schools athletes and 1.5 points behind ISU in the team race is where you are at. You're right though I'm sure...Bob probably has you guys on a roll and I'm just not seeing it..

Oh and to answer your question, I'm not really a numbers guy so lets just go with the 16...

You're right! With 3 starters out we were only 1.5 points behind ISU. I knew we kept you around for the statistics we need! Penn State fans, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose!

Are the rumors about OSU staff pulling a Brands and going after Ayala true?

Not sure if this Portal thread is the right place for this since none of the guys being poached are in the portal.

Prolly never. They don’t have any 133/141 recruits that can beat him as of now.

And blaze comes, he’ll go whatever weight he’s not.
I like Davis a lot. Main concern is between his ears. He wastes energy fighting with refs on calls. He needs to focus his energy better and trust the coaches to do their jobs. I take it to be a freshman issue. If he doesn't RS this year, I think he has a chance against Nagao.

Speaking of… how’s Nagao?!

That shoulder looked nasty at U23s. And it popped out in a pretty common position for him

Well if Bob and his money was worth anything, Iowa would have had a Braeden Davis or Tyler Kasak to step in for injured or poor porforming starters. But go on ahead with your bad self...

Lol! Braeden Davis didn't even place. I'll give you Kasak though.

Fix stay or go odds? No doubt both can cut to 57 kg but I don't think either is quite as effective as a Gilman or Lee. Unless they stay wanting to represent different countries, but you'd think they wouldn't want to be that familiar with one another.

RBY is Mexico so it’s not a problem. They need each other to get over the hump.

It seems more advantageous for RBY. Fix has to go through a gauntlet to make a US team. If he becomes the representative he has the potential to face the guy he helped along the way? Let's be honest Fix would wash RBY in freestyle at this point in time. Fix is also the odd man out with the current coaching staff. Not saying they don't get along, but they obviously have a lot better relationship with RBY.

Maybe Fix looks Irish? Possibly needs a dna test instead of trying to beat Spencer for the next four years.
